Razorback Brew 3/21: Whatever It Takes

Good morning! We're still reeling from that win on Saturday, and so much more has happened around The Hill since then. We'll get you all caught up as we inch closer to the Sweet 16.

Now, what's all been mixed in today's Brew?

🎥 Devo Davis, AKA Mr. March
🏀 Hogs advance in WNIT
🐗 And much, much more!

🎥 BEHIND THE SCENES

Mr. March is inevitable. Junior guard Davonte Davis has been here before. He knows what it takes to advance through the madness. So when days like Saturday happen, it's nothing unusual to see from the Jacksonville, AR native. This is just who Mr. March is.

In this special episode of the Hog Pod, host Bo Mattingly sits down with Devo following his incredible performance in the second round upset of Kansas. Learn how he constantly shows up in the biggest moments, and how the Hogs have gotten to this point.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Super Bound. The Razorbacks' domination in the WNIT continued Monday evening as Arkansas women’s basketball stifled Stephen F. Austin by a score of 60-37. The Hogs broke two program WNIT records that were set just last week in the win over Louisiana Tech by holding SFA to 22 percent shooting and a season-low 37 points. Offensively, Samara Spencer led the way with 27 points, counting for 45% of Arkansas' offensive output.

The Super 16 is coming to Fayetteville as Arkansas will host Texas Tech Friday at 7pm. Click here for ticket information and more!

🔼 Still Climbing. Winning 13-straight ball games is no small feat, and the latest college baseball polls reflect that for Arkansas. The Diamond Hogs are No. 5 in the country, and are in the top three for several other publications.

Arkansas has scored at least five runs in every one of their last 13 wins. They'll look to put up however many they'll need against SE Missouri State this afternoon. First pitch is at 3pm on SEC Network Plus.

🔼 Tide Turning. Arkansas softball turned it around against Alabama on the arm of RHP Chenise Delce, taking its first SEC series by winning back-to-back games against the Crimson Tide. She earned her 10th win of the season this weekend after keeping Alabama at bay during the final three innings, and then went the distance by throwing 172 pitches in 10 innings, both being career highs, on Monday. She struck out eight and allowed just one earned run on five hits in the series-clinching victory, which was made possible by Rylin Hedgecock’s go-ahead solo home run in the top of the 10th.

🔼 Whatever It Takes. Arkansas freshman Jordan Walsh will get it done. That's always been his M.O.

Against Kansas, Jordan put up 10 points off the bench, including the three points that gave the Hogs their first lead of the game. Moments like this are what he's been working for, and now he's in the spotlight he so rightfully earned.

INSIDE THE BULLPEN

Bringing the heat. SEC baseball is a grind. Arkansas manager Dave Van Horn and pitching coach Matt Hobbs both know it be a fact. But there are worse things to have boosting you into conference play than a double-digit win streak.

Go behind the scenes with Hobbs and director of video/scouting Zach Barr as they prepare their squad for their opening SEC series at Baum-Walker.

Hear Hogs+ senior contributor Clay Henry chat with DVH about where his team is at as they prepare for SEC play.
