🎥 BEHIND THE SCENES
In the words of Arkansas play-by-play announcer Chuck Barrett: "Vegas, Baby!"
The Hogs take down one seeded Kansas in historic fashion. Relive all the action of game day through the eyes of its star, Devo Davis. Go inside the locker room, in the huddles, and experience the game as Mr. March himself sits down for an interview.
It's all here in this sweet edition of The Follow.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Sweet Spot. The second weekend of the NCAA Tournament starts today with the Sweet 16. And in case you've just emerged from underneath a rock, Arkansas is playing No. 4 seed UConn tonight.
This is the third-straight year the Razorbacks have made it to the regional semifinals. But unlike 2021 and 2022 when they were seeded fourth or higher, these Hogs have done it as an eight-seed. Overcoming adversity is just business as usual for head coach Eric Musselman's team.
Tip-off is at 6:15pm on CBS for a third-straight trip to the Elite 8. Wooo Pig!
🔼 Room For One More? World record-holder and Arkansas star Britton Wilson is no longer the lone Razorback on the 2023 Bowerman list. Ackera Nugent is the latest edition to the 10-athlete list following the NCAA Indoor Championships. She is the 11th athlete in Arkansas women’s program history to be named to the watch list.
Ackera broke the 60m hurdles collegiate record (and her own Arkansas program record) in the semifinal of the NCAA's, clocking a world-leading 7.72 to better the previous record of 7.75 set by Russell earlier in the season. In addition, Nugent bettered the Jamaican record of 7.74 set by Michelle Freeman in 1998 as well as the NCAA meet record of 7.78 by Florida’s Grace Stark in 2022.
🔼 Be Loud, Be Proud. Arkansas women's basketball is hosting the Super 16 of the WNIT with a matchup against Texas Tech this Friday, and freshman standout Saylor Poffenbarger wants you in attendance! So what are you waiting for? Click here to secure your tickets inside Bud Walton Arena.
🔼 Gimme Five! Five Gymbacks have been named to the 2023 All-SEC and All-SEC Freshman teams following a program-best finish at the SEC Championships. Norah Flatley, Frankie Price, Cami Weaver, and Lauren Williams have all received All-SEC designation. Frankie, Cami, and Lauren, all in their first years of eligibility, have also been named to the SEC All-Freshman team, along with Reese Drotar.
🔼 Pin Seekers. For the first time in four years, Arkansas women’s golf took home an SEC weekly award. Wait a minute... make that TWO SEC weekly awards.
Miriam Ayora was named SEC Golfer of the Week, and Meghan Royal was tabbed the SEC Freshman Golfer of the Week for their stellar play at last weekend's MountainView Collegiate in Tucson, AZ. Miriam finished the tournament in 11th place to lead all other SEC golfers in the field, while Meghan finished under par in all three rounds, including matching a season-low 69 in the final round.
The gals will be back on the links this weekend at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic.
🎤 MIKE’D UP
Spring breakin' in Fayetteville is new to Mike Neighbors. So far, it's been nothing but winning.
The Arkansas women's basketball team is heading to the Sweet 16 in the WNIT after a dominating win over Stephen F. Austin. Watch exclusive access of the victory and hear head coach Mike Neighbors in the locker room, inside of huddles, and coaching on the sidelines.
