Razorback Brew 4/12: Spring Fling
Today, we prepare for the 2024 Red-White Game, baseball and softball hit the road, and women's golf tees off at SEC's.
Good Morning. It’s been a great week to be a Razorback, and it just keeps getting better. Arkansas came in at No. 13 in the latest Directors’ Cup standings with 495 total points!
Here’s what’s Brewin’ today:
🎥 Jump into spring football with “Embrace The Hog”
🏈 Get a sneak peek at the 2024 Razorbacks
🐗 And so much more!
🏈 EMBRACE THE HOG
Spring has sprung and it's a new start for Razorback football. Step inside spring meetings, practices and workouts to see how this team is "Embracing the Hog". In part one of the series discover the meaning behind the team's new mantra and meet transfer QB Taylen Green.
In the second-part of this three-part series, hear from new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino. Step inside a practice as he takes the mic and hear how he prepares players to get better inside his system. Plus, a newly tooled offensive line works with both Eric Mateos & head coach Sam Pittman to change the narrative coming out of last season. Hear from this group and go along with QB Taylen Green as he treats them to some Wright's Barbecue.
Saturday's in the spring mean scrimmage day. Step inside Razorback Stadium as the team competes in front of fans and hear how Travis Williams' defense has improved over the offseason. See all the big plays and moments from the day as the team continues to "embrace the hog."
📈 STOCK UP
🔺 Spring Fling. Football will be played one last time before the fall in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium tomorrow! Come out to the Red-White Spring Football Game at noon tomorrow to get a sneak peek at the 2024 Razorbacks. HogTown will kick off at 9 am in Lot 44 — featuring live music from Gone Country, a classic car and truck show, food trucks, a pep rally, a free hot air balloon ride, and much more! If you’re an early bird, sign up for a free Sunrise Yoga session from 8-9 am inside Gate 14.
🔺 Taking Over Tusk-aloosa. The No. 1-ranked Diamond Hogs are at No. 25 Alabama this weekend to take on the Tide. Alabama is 4-8 in SEC play, while the Razorbacks sit at 11-1 — their best 12-game start since joining the conference. First pitch is tonight at 6 pm, the series will continue tomorrow at 5 pm, and conclude on Sunday at 1 pm. All three games will stream on SEC Network+.
🔺 Eastbound Hogs. No. 14 Razorback softball is also on the road this weekend as they are set to play at No. 25 South Carolina. First pitch is tonight at 5 pm on SEC Network. Every team in the SEC will wear teal this weekend to honor Alex Wilcox, a member of the 2018 Mississippi State softball team who fought a hard battle with ovarian cancer. The Razorbacks will wear white jerseys with teal accents for their 10:30 am matchup on Saturday, also on the SEC Network. The series will conclude on Sunday at 1 pm on SEC Network+.
🔺 On The Green. It’s one of the biggest weekend’s in the golf world with The Masters underway, but it’s a big one for our eighth-ranked women’s golf team as well. The Razorbacks are teeing off at the SEC Championships at 7 am this morning. Four teams in the national top-10 rankings reside in the SEC, so the field is stacked. The tournament is being held at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida and will include three days of stroke competition that will determine the eight qualifying teams for match play. The Razorback lineup includes Maria José Marin, Kendall Todd, Miriam Ayora, Reagan Zibilski, and Kajal Mistry.
🔺 Watch Out. Razorback track & field athlete Rachel Glenn was named to the The Bowerman Women’s Mid-Outdoor Watch List! She won the NCAA Indoor High Jump title and tied the collegiate record. She has not yet competed outdoors this season, but looks to change that at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational this weekend where she will race in hurdles.
