Razorback Brew 9/11: Snuffed 'em out

Today, we're recapping Arkansas' second win of the year.

Good morning. As we cherish another victory Monday for Arkansas football, we remember the events and victims of September 11, 2001 and say thank you to all the first responders. 22 years later, your sacrifice means the world.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Snuffed ’Em Out. The Arkansas football team stifled Kent State in a 28-6 victory in front of over 73,000 fans at Razorback Stadium to go 2-0 on the young season. QB1 KJ Jefferson connected with receiver Andrew Armstrong for two touchdowns through the air, and running back AJ Green scampered for a team-high 82 rushing yards on 15 attempts. The Hog defense really showed out as they allowed just 26 rushing yards despite the Golden Flashes running the ball 36 times. That’s an average of just 0.7 yards per attempt!

Arkansas begins the season 2-0 for the third consecutive year under head coach Sam Pittman. The Hogs had not started 2-0 in three consecutive seasons since 1998-2000 under Houston Nutt.

🔺 Worldly Guy. There’s many things that make Arkansas’ newest big man Baye Fall unique, but do you know how many languages he speaks? It’s a very large number. Learn about Baye’s favorite hobbies, his motivation, and what he’s already learned about Razorback men’s basketball in this Q and A with the talented freshman.

🔺 Doubling Up. The Arkansas men’s tennis fall season continued on Saturday as the Razorbacks picked up six more wins between the two tournaments in Wichita and Midland. The second-ranked pairing of Jakob Mosvold and Jake Sweeney captured the doubles championship at the Wichita State 5K Fall UTR while Stefanos Savva and Melvin Manuel picked up two wins each. Click here for a full recap from the court.

🔺 Block Party. The Volley Hogs went 3-0 in their first road trip by taking down College of Charleston, Western Kentucky, and Troy over the weekend in the University Plaza Invitational. The win over WKU was the second five-set match Arkansas has played this year, featuring a comeback from being down 2-1 against the host team. Arkansas’ 14.5 blocks in the match were a season high and the most for the team since Nov. 20, 2022.
