📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Prestigious In The Pocket. Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson has been named to the preseason watch list for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award. QB1 is one of 35 signal-callers in the spotlight to compete for the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award.

KJ passed for 2,648 yards and 24 touchdowns with 640 yards and nine rushing scores on the ground in 2022. Along with his inclusion in this watch list, he’s the first Arkansas quarterback to earn preseason All-SEC accolades since 2012. He was also named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, which is presented annually to the best player in college football.

🔺 Marcus Woodson grew up in a hard-working, blue-collar family. That mentality helped him earn a scholarship at Ole Miss. And even though his playing career was cut short by injuries, he’s carried that same work ethic into his coaching career. In this episode of the Hog Pod, we get to know Woodson, what drives him to be great, and what it’s like to be the new co-defensive coordinator at Arkansas.

🔺 The Wright Play. We’re now just 24 days from the start of Arkansas’ football season, so today’s special shoutout goes out to former Razorback wideout Jarius Wright and his 24 career receiving touchdowns. Wright’s 24 trips to the end zone ranks second on the all-time program list for receivers, and his 12 touchdowns from 2011 ranks first in school history for most receiving scores in a single season.

🔺 New Jumper. Freshman forward Jenna Lawrence and the Arkansas women’s basketball team continue their European Tour today with a game against ŽKK Budućnost Podgorica in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Jenna scored 15 points in her debut for the Hogs on Monday, showing how seamless her transition has been in Mike Neighbors’ fast-paced offense. Get to know Jenna a bit more in this cool introductory video.
