Good morning. Week 0 of college football has arrived, which means we’re just a week away from calling those Hogs on the gridiron. We did plenty of that last night for Razorback soccer, and the Volley Hogs are next up to kick off their 2023 campaign. Let’s get this Friday started.

🎥 GROWING UP GROVEY

Part three of the Hogs+ original docuseries “Growing Up Grovey” is live now on HogsPlus.com. Featuring special guests Lyndy Lindsey & Betsy Broyles, “The Long Goodbye” focuses on Quinn’s post-playing career, including his time as an executive at Walmart and Home Depot, as well as his toughest battle in life – being the primary caregiver throughout his mom, Bobbye Jean’s, 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Quinn’s perseverance and dedication to her shined its brightest as he orchestrated a game plan during this difficult time, and gave her the comfort and care she needed until her final days.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Four scores and 90 minutes ago... Arkansas soccer hosted Oregon for a red-out at Razorback Field and proceeded to shut out the Ducks 4-0 for win No. 2 on the young season. The Hogs scored all four of their goals in the first 44 minutes of play, starting with Morgan White’s first career goal at Arkansas. But the transfer from Marshall wasn’t satisfied with just one goal as she put in a second for her second collegiate brace.

The Razorbacks will go on the road this weekend for their first away match of the year against Notre Dame. ACC Network will carry the match, which will kick off at 1pm this Sunday.

🔺 Seven On The Board. We’re now just ONE WEEK AWAY days from the start of the 2023 Arkansas football season. The Hog backfield will once again be loaded this year, and No. 7 Rashod Dubinion is a critical part of the talented group. The last time we saw him, he rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns in the Razorbacks’ Liberty Bowl victory over Kansas.

🔺 Golden Boy. Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson was one of 48 QBs selected to the prestigious Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Preseason Watch List, which is compiled by a group of prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, and former players that make up the distinguished Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Selection Committee. The award annually recognizes the top senior or upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class.

🔺 Silver Bells. Razorback long jumper Wayne Pinnock and volunteer assistant 400m hurdle athlete Shamier Little each took second place in their respective events at the World Athletics Championships Thursday. Wayne leaped a distance of 27-10.75 to earn Arkansas and Jamaica its third silver medal at the World Championships. Shamier’s time of 52.80 was a season best and was 0.01 seconds faster than third-place finisher Rushell Clayton of Jamaica.

🔺 Set To Spike. The Razorback Classic begins tonight as 25th-ranked Arkansas volleyball kicks off its 2023 season. Up first this evening is the season-opening match against Michigan State, and Tulsa will come to town for a Sunday afternoon match.

This is the third consecutive season in which the Hogs have started at Barnhill Arena, where the Volley Hogs went 13-3 last season. Click here for everything you need to know about the Razorbacks’ first two matches of the year.
