🎥 GROWING UP GROVEY PART II
QB4. Part 2 of the Hogs+ original series “Growing Up Grovey” goes back to the heart of the era, including an epic showdown with Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware, as Quinn elevated to the top of the quarterbacking landscape. The Hogs opened the 1988 season with 10 straight victories, including their first outright conference championship in 13 years, while rising to national title contention. In 1989, Quinn became the first, and only, Arkansas QB to win back-to-back conference crowns and earn consecutive Cotton Bowl appearances.
🎙️ HOG POD: KJ JEFFERSON

📝 DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
How do you win football games at Arkansas? In the past, it’s a simple formula: play good defense with a great front four and field a great kicking game.
While everyone is trying to figure out how much better offensive coordinator Dan Enos will be at calling plays, let Clay Henry tell you why this year's Razorbacks will turn in a successful SEC season in his latest article for HogsPlus.com.
📈 STOCK UP
🔺 On The Right Foot. Win No. 1 for No. 8 Arkansas soccer came in dominant fashion as the Razorbacks blanked Arkansas State 6-0 in their season opener. All six goals were scored by different Razorbacks, including first-time scorer freshman Patricia Tsokos, who put the Hogs up 4-0 to end the first half. In goal, junior Sierra Cota-Yarde made her first start for the Hogs and also converted a penalty kick in the 54th minute, the third PK attempt of her college career. In total, Arkansas out-shot Arkansas State 34-7.
The Hogs will return to the pitch next week and face Oregon on Thursday, August 24 at 6:30pm. The match will be streamed on SEC Network Plus.
🔺 Slot Prototype. We’re now just two weeks from the start of the 2023 Arkansas football season. Tomorrow marks 14 days until kickoff, when No. 14 Bryce Stephens will spearhead the Razorbacks receiving corps. His biggest impact on last season was a game-changing 82-yard punt return touchdown against Missouri State. Now as a third-year player, the OKC native is on the verge of having a breakout season. Read what has offensive coordinator Dan Enos so excited about Bryce in Clay Henry’s 2023 Football Preview.
🔺 Beaux Knows. Arkansas center Beaux Limmer was recently tabbed to the Rimington Award preseason watch list, and one major outlet projects him to take home the award this year. Pro Football Focus gave the nod to Beaux in their college football award projections, citing he was one of only three Power Five guards who earned 80.0-plus pass-blocking and run-blocking grades in 2022.
🔺 Springboard Scholastics. Eight members of Arkansas gymnastics were named Scholar All-Americans by the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association this week. Reese Drotar, Norah Flatley, Kalyxta Gamiao, Maddie Jones, Emma Kelley, Jensen Scalzo, Cally Swaney and Lauren Williams all received the honor, given to athletes who have earned cumulative GPAs of 3.5 or above, or 3.5 or above in the 2022-23 academic year. The Hogs finished the year with a 3.39 team GPA, which comes in fourth among SEC teams.
🔺 Coming This November... The non-conference slate for Arkansas women’s basketball features 15 games, including eight at home, two true road matchups, a neutral-site game in North Little Rock, and two tournaments in Florida. Arkansas will open the 2023-24 season with three straight home games, starting with the season opener against Louisiana Monroe on Tuesday, Nov. 7. Click here to see the full 15-game schedule.
