🎤 KJ MIC’D UP

Throwing dimes, adjusting protections, and citing art history. It’s all part of the KJ Jefferson experience during Arkansas football practice. But while Michelangelo could create beauty with rock and paint, QB1 for the Razorbacks does so with the ball in his hands.

Enjoy inside access with a mic’d up KJ during fall camp as he prepares for the season.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Stack ’Em Up. Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson is one of 33 quarterbacks named to the preseason watch list for the Manning Award, which is presented annually to the nation’s best college quarterback. It’s the only quarterback award that includes bowl game performances, and it’s just the latest preseason honor QB1 has earned this offseason:

  • All-SEC Second Team

  • Maxwell Award watch list

  • Davey O’Brien Award watch list

  • Manning Award watch list

🔺 Hog Hops. Arkansas senior wideout Isaac TeSlaa can jump his way out of anything. Standing at 6-4 and 216 pounds, the transfer from D-II Hillsdale College has recorded a 38-inch vertical jump and a 10-5 broad jump at his incredible size. It’s why he was one of 100 players to make Bruce Feldman’s College Football Freaks List of 2023. Check out the full list of players here.

🔺 Nose For The Ball. We’re now 17 days from the start of the 2023 Arkansas football season. No. 17 Hudson Clark had a career year at safety in 2022, posting career bests in games (13), starts (10) and tackles (67) and earning first-team All-SEC honors from USA Today. The former walk-on also led the Hog secondary with 11 pass breakups, and his two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries were tied for the team lead. Read what defensive coordinator Travis Williams sees in Hudson entering his senior season in Clay Henry’s 2023 Football Preview.

🔺 Pays To Be Prepared. Building a perennial winner doesn’t come without hard work and intense preparation. It’s why Arkansas soccer Head Coach Colby Hale believes that, “when things get difficult, we’re going to be better than you.” You as in any opponents reading this email, of course. Hear more of Coach Hale in the latest episode of the Hog Pod.

🔺 Usual Suspects. Two days ahead of Arkansas’ season-opener, the eighth-ranked Razorbacks had six players named to the SEC Preseason Watch List. Graduates Bea Franklin and Anna Podojil, seniors Kiley Dulaney, Ellie Podojil and Ava Tankersley and sophomore Makenzie Malham were each named players to watch this season. Anna has now made four-straight appearances on the list, while Bea and Ellie have now made it twice. Ava, Kiley, and Makenzie are all first-timers on the list.

Tonight, Arkansas and Arkansas State will be hosting a free clinic for ages 6-12 before their match tomorrow night. First kick on Thursday is at 6pm on SEC Network Plus.
