🔺 Countdown To Kickoff: 10 Days Away. We are now just 🔟 days away from the return of Razorback football.
Yesterday, we honored the gunslinger, Joe Ferguson. Today, we’re honoring another grat QB of Arkansas’ past, Bill Montgomery.
Montgomery was a three-year starting QB for the Hogs and held nearly every school record at the time of his graduation. The Razorbacks posted a 28-5 record with Montgomery under center, the best three-year stretch in school history.
Montgomery is a member in the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, the University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor, the Razorback All-Century Team and has been named an SEC Football Legend. Since graduating from the University of Arkansas, Montgomery has gone on to a successful business career in Dallas.
🔺 The Lonestar Kid. Entering his senior season with the Razorbacks, Arkansas tight end Jaden Platt is looking to make some noise this fall.
On Tuesday, he was recognized for that potential as he was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List.
The award is presented annually to the nation’s top offensive player who exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell. Additionally, the student-athlete must be born in Texas and/or have attended a Texas high school, junior college or university. Platt is a native of Haslet, Texas, and graduated from Eaton High School, located in Fort Worth, Texas.
🔺 Almost Time. The Razorback football team isn’t the only squad ready to get their 2026 campaign going.
This weekend, the Arkansas Volleyball team is set to open their season at home with three games. The Hogs are set to welcome SIUE (Friday - 7 p.m.), UT Arlington (Saturday - 7 p.m.) and UTSA (Sunday - 1 p.m.) as part of the Razorback Invitational at Barnhill Arena.
🔺 Special Screening. Join us for a special screening of Greater, the inspiring story of Brandon Burlsworth, at Big Red’s Rooftop on Friday, Sept. 4, from 6-9 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes snacks, light concessions, and beverages.
