📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Open The Gates. It’s time to pack the Hog Pen and fill the stands inside Baum-Walker Stadium. Arkansas baseball kicks off NCAA regional play vs. Santa Clara this afternoon at 2pm on ESPN Plus. This is the 10th time in program history the Razorbacks are at home for regionals, as they helped make history this year as one of a record eight SEC teams to play host this weekend. The Hogs have won the last three regionals they hosted, the latest being in 2021.

Arkansas’ first opponent in the double elimination format is Santa Clara, the West Coast Conference champions who went 35-18 this year. The Broncos are 1-1 against RPI Top 25 teams, and 3-4 against NCAA Tournament teams.

🔺 Hunter Hollan will get the start this afternoon, and for good reason. The junior is an impressive 8-2 on the mound this season as opposing batters have consistently fallen victim to his wide array of pitches. It’s why pitching coach Matt Hobbs calls him a “Random Pitch Generator.” Learn more about Hunter’s baseball journey to Fayetteville in the latest episode of the Hog Pod.

🔺 Athletes First. Not many people get to do what they’re best at, but that describes Arkansas women’s track and field coach Lance Harter to a tee. After countless championships across decades of coaching, Coach Harter always emphasized that it was the athletes victory, never his own. Because when you love what you do, it’s just natural to stick around and build a winner. Click here to see a sneak peek of “Why Not You — The Lance Harter Legacy” only on HogsPlus.com.

🔺 Hagen’s Heroes. Arkansas southpaw Hagen Smith has been named an All-American by Collegiate Baseball, making him the 32nd Razorback in program to achieve All-American status and one of seven pitchers to earn first-team recognition from the national publication this year. For the season, Hagen has made 16 appearances with 10 starts on the mound and boasts an 8-1 record with a team-leading 2.69 ERA and two saves over 67 innings of work. The true sophomore has struck out 102 batters, nine shy of entering Arkansas’ top 10 for single-season strikeouts, and limited opposing hitters to a meager .199 batting average.
