🔺 Program Of The Year. For the second consecutive year the Arkansas Razorbacks have claimed the Terry Crawford Program of the Year for the top combined finish at the three national championships held in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field for the 2022-23 seasons. With a total of 25 points the Razorbacks finished ahead of Oregon, runner-up with 29.5 points. The rest of the top five schools includes Texas (34), Alabama (37.5), Notre Dame (37.5), and Stanford (37.5). Arkansas placed 21st in NCAA Cross Country last fall, then won the NCAA Indoor championship and completed the season placing third at NCAA Outdoor.
🔺 There He Goes. We’re now 80 days from the start of Arkansas’ football season. 80 yards is usually how far away the offense has to go following a touchback, but Nathan Parodi took matters into his own hands back in 2021. During the Hogs’ 45-3 blowout win over Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Parodi took back a punt 80 yards to the house for the Razorbacks’ lone special teams touchdown of the season. Go back to that exciting win in this episode of The Follow.
🔺 Best There Is. Arkansas pitcher Hagen Smith and outfielder Jace Bohrofen have earned All-Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings. Hagen was named to the South All-Region First Team and is the first Razorback starting pitcher to earn first-team All-Region praise from the outlet since Isaiah Campbell in 2019. Jace landed on the South All-Region Second Team.
🔺 Finish In Sight. Arkansas secured a spot in the top 15 in the latest 2022-23 Learfield Directors’ Cup Standings released on Tuesday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of America (NACDA). Arkansas has 981.5 points and ranks fourth among the seven Southeastern Conference programs in the top 25 of the latest standings. The Directors’ Cup tracks the nation’s most successful intercollegiate athletics programs for their performances throughout the year. The Razorbacks are aiming for their third-straight top-15 finish after finishing eighth in 2020-21 and seventh in 2021-22.
🔺 Steamrollers Unite. The 2023 Phil Steele preseason All-America team features two dominant Razorbacks in running back Rocket Sanders and offensive lineman Beaux Limmer. Rocket was tabbed to the 2nd team while Beaux made the cut with the 3rd team.
