🎙️ HOG POD: CHENISE DELCE

Chenise Delce lives for competition. The reigning SEC Pitcher of the Year transferred to Arkansas last year for that very reason, and she wants much more than the individual accolades that come with her success.

In the latest episode of the Hog Pod, learn about the dominant right-handed pitcher’s career path, her adventurous first visit to Fayetteville, and why Razorback softball allowed her to become the best version of herself.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 From One ’Ville To The Next. Fayetteville, Starkville, don’t matter. Hogs by 1000.

Arkansas baseball swept Mississippi State over the weekend thanks to three dominant showings. Friday night saw Hagen Smith, Cody Adcock, and Gage Wood stifle the Bulldogs to just two hits and combine for 13 strikeouts in a 6-2 series-opening victory. Saturday night ended early with a demolishing 14-2 run-rule win to secure the series, featuring three hits and five RBI from Kendall Diggs alone. Sunday afternoon brought on the sweep with a 11-6 win to bring Arkansas to 36-12 on the year, and 17-7 in conference play. They’re now tied with Vanderbilt at the top of the SEC standings.

Just six regular season games remain for the Razorbacks, and one more series at home this upcoming weekend when South Carolina comes to town.

🔺 Sun-Setting Stunners. Friday’s Arkansas Twilight meet represented the final stop leading up to this week’s SEC Outdoor Championships, and plenty of Razorbacks found the podium. Connor Washington and Lance Lang finished first and second, respectively, in the men’s 100m. Connor also finished second in the 200m behind fellow Razorback James Benson II, and Ricardo Banks took home the 800m title on what was his last meet in Fayetteville as a senior. Ricardo’s time of 1:48.85 was also a career best. The same goes for senior Paris Peoples, who won the women’s 400m with a career-best time of 51.62. Fellow senior Madison Langley-Walker won the 400m hurdles, and freshman Heidi Nielson came out on top of a packed field in the 1500m.

🔺 All Lining Up. Razorback softball’s quest for a second consecutive SEC Tournament title begins this week. The Hogs, who will host the tournament at Bogle Park for the first time since 2010, received a double-bye as the No. 4 seed, and will play the winner between No. 5 Alabama and No. 12 Mississippi State/No. 13 Missouri. Arkansas’ quarterfinals matchup begins at 4pm on Thursday, May 11.

🔺 Early Drives. Arkansas women’s golf is set to play in the program’s 20th consecutive NCAA Regional, 21st in school history, as the Hogs tee off at PGA National Resort for the 2023 NCAA Palm Beach Gardens Regional. Leading the charge will be Miriam Ayora, who will sport the No. 1 spot for the fifth time this season. Miriam has a team-high 10 rounds at par or under, 72 birdies and a 73.04 scoring average. Follow along with live results as the Razorbacks begin 54 holes of stroke play today through Wednesday.

🔺 Desert Exodus. Arkansas gymnastics is proud to welcome graduate transfer Sirena Linton to the 2024 roster of Gymbacks. Sirena has competed in nearly every meet for the University of Arizona, specializing on bars and beam. She earned a new career best of 9.875 on bars at the Pac-12 Championships and went 9.850 or above on beam eight times, with a season high of 9.900. Learn more about Sirena here!
