Why Not You? In celebration of one of the most-decorated coaches in the history of Arkansas Athletics, Hogs+ has announced a new documentary – “Why Not You? - The Lance Harter Legacy” – will premiere on Tuesday, June 6. The documentary, narrated by 2016 Olympics silver medalist Sandi Morris, highlights Coach Harter’s 33 years at the helm of the Razorbacks track and field program.

🔺 Déjà Vu. LSU baseball usually has success when SEC Pitcher of the Year Paul Skenes is on the mound. Arkansas seems to keep missing the memo.

For the second time this season, the Razorbacks took down Skenes and LSU, this time in the SEC Tournament. The Hogs put up five runs on the revered right-hander, all in the fourth inning, in the 5-4 victory over Friday evening. It was the most damaging inning Skenes has allowed all year.

Caleb Cali and Peyton Holt opened the floodgates as the two knocked in RBI singles before Jace Bohrofen ripped a two-run base hit to put the Razorbacks up, 5-2. Arkansas surrendered two late runs, but had much more success on the mound. Hagen Smith and Hunter Hollan combined for 17 strikeouts in the win.

The second-seeded Hogs advance to the SEC Tournament semifinals, where they are guaranteed a rematch against either LSU or Texas A&M at noon Saturday, May 27.

🔺 Rewriting The Book. Breaking records is in Britton Wilson’s DNA. Her latest came last night in the 400m hurdles, in which her time of 54.08 broke the previous best time at the NCAA West meet by 0.42 seconds. In case it wasn’t obvious, Britton is moving on to the quarterfinals, like Ackera Nugent is in the 100m. Ackera also broke the meet record in her respective event, only this time it was her own record from two years back.

Britton and Ackera are among several Razorbacks set to compete Saturday to conclude the prelims, while Kaitlyn Banas, Amanda Fassold, and Mackenzie Hayward are all advancing to the NCAA Championships in the pole vault.

🔺 Friday Night Spikes. Nine Razorbacks for men’s track and field will compete in quarterfinals action tonight at the NCAA West prelims. Three of the nine won their heats on Wednesday.

Fresh off producing collegiate best times in each event, Connor Washington will look to keep the speed in the 100m and 200m, with Lance Lang joining him in the 200m. The 400m hurdles will feature heat-winner Ayden Owens-Delerme along with Devontie Archer, and Chris Bailey will look to continue his dominance in the 400m after winning his heat in the event as well.

🔺 Fearsome Five-some. A week after shattering program records, the Arkansas men’s golf team is one of 13 schools making a third-straight appearance at the NCAA Championships, which begin today in Scottsdale, AZ., at Grayhawk Golf Club – Raptor Course.

The Razorbacks have made the top-15 cut after three rounds in each of the past two years before, finishing 11th in 2021 and ninth in 2022, and are hoping to make the next step this season by making the final eight by advancing to match play. Luckily, experience is on the Hogs’ side. The veteran Razorback five-some includes four graduates in Wil Gibson, Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira, Segundo Oliva Pinto and Julian Perico, as well as redshirt sophomore Manuel Lozada. All five have played in at least one NCAA Championship.
