🏈 ESTABLISHING A NEW CULTURE
It starts with trust. Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorback football team have a new defensive staff this year. Co-defensive coordinators Travis Williams and Marcus Woodson bring old school philosophies with a modern approach to get the most out of their players. And the results from spring practices show it’s working. Go inside team meetings & practice to see how Williams and Woodson are establishing a new culture with the defense on the Hill.

🔺 Extra, Extra! When Arkansas outfielder Tavian Josenberger stepped to the plate this past week, no base was safe. He went 8-14 from the plate with four extra base hits for the Diamond Hogs. His tremendous week not only helped the Razorbacks achieve a 3-1 record, it earned him SEC Player of the Week honors. The Kansas City, Mo., native scored a conference-high eight runs on the week, and made a sensational home run-robbing catch against Alabama on Saturday.
Tavian is the third Razorback to earn a weekly honor from the SEC this season.
The Razorbacks’ big week was also reflected in the latest polls. They’re now the No. 5 team in the country, and are no worse than seventh in any of the major polls. Arkansas was originally scheduled to play Arkansas State tonight at 6pm, but inclement weather has forced the game to be canceled.
🔺 Always Repping. Arkansas gymnastics is sending two Gymbacks to the NCAA Championships for the fourth year in a row. Graduate transfer Norah Flatley qualified on beam after posting a 9.950 in the Norman regional semifinal last Thursday, and freshman Lauren Williams will compete in the vault after becoming the first freshman individual to qualify for the event in six years.
The Championships begin next Thursday, April 13 in Fort Worth, TX.
🔺 Keeping Up. Playing on the road didn’t both Razorback softball or Cylie Halvorson this past weekend. The first baseman from was 5-12 at the plate with three RBIs and three runs scored against the Bulldogs. Cylie is slashing .308/.387/.481 and has played in all 36 games for the Hogs this year.
🔺 Playing in the Masters. Chasing the green jacket alongside icons of the game. It’s every golfer’s dream. For Razorback senior Mateo Fernandez de Oliviera, his dream has become a reality.
With his record-setting win earlier this year at the Latin American Amateur Championship, Mateo secured his invitation to the Masters, U.S. Open and British Open. For him, it’s just the beginning. Hear his story from growing up in Argentina, to transferring from TCU to Arkansas in the latest episode of the Hog Pod.
