🔺 Milestone Mania. No. 12 Arkansas softball has won 10-straight SEC road series against nine different conference foes, and the Razorbacks have the opportunity to add Kentucky to the streak this weekend. The three-game series in Lexington, KY also presents a chance for head coach Courtney Deifel to pass another milestone. Deifel needs three wins to hit 300 for her already legendary career. First pitch for game one today is at 5:30pm on SEC Network Plus.
🔺 Come One, Come All. Arkansas track and field plays host at the John McDonnell Invitational, beginning this morning at 10am. With 18 other teams scheduled to compete, the No. 1 men’s team will be involved in 14 different events, and the No. 3 women’s team are partaking in 12. Keep up with today’s results here.
🔺 Scorecard Circles. Graduate senior Wil Gibson is holding on strong in the SEC Championships. The Jonesboro, AR native birdied three holes on the back nine to shoot a one-under-par 69 for his second round, helping the Arkansas men’s golf team maintain its spot in eighth-place after 36 holes. Wil is currently tied for seventh-place among 69 golfers on the individual leaderboard.
🔺 Big Shot Bob. NBA Sixth Man of the Year finalist and former Razorback Bobby Portis is having a great start to the NBA playoffs. The 6-10 forward for the Milwaukee Bucks is averaging 17 points and 11.5 rebounds per game on 58% shooting in round one action against the Miami Heat. Milwaukee has a chance to take a 2-1 lead over Miami with game three going down at 6:30pm tonight.
🔺 Fine As Nine. Arkansas has moved to No. 9 in the 2022-23 Learfield Directors’ Cup Final Winter Standings released on Thursday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of America. The Razorback’s current point total of 635 was recently boosted thanks to the Gymbacks’ appearance in the NCAA Regional in Norman, OK, where they earned 53.5 points after achieving a program-best regional score of 197.275. Arkansas ranks second among the seven Southeastern Conference programs in the top 25 of the latest standings.
