Razorback Brew 4/11: We will rock you

Today, Arkansas hosts an in-state rival on the diamond

Good morning. A little in-state ball never hurt anyone’s Tuesday afternoon. Razorback baseball and softball hit their respective diamonds to face fellow Arkansas programs, and men’s golf is out east in Virginia for their latest tournament.

Coming Soon: Ever wonder what it’s like to break down film with the head coach? Well, wonder no longer. The very first episode of Razorback Film Room with head coach Sam Pittman is dropping tomorrow night. Check out the teaser here!

Record-setting relay. Once that final baton was exchanged, another National Championship for the Arkansas women's track team was in the bag.

In this episode of Tuesdays with Tera, we sit down with the members of Arkansas’ record-setting 4 × 400 relay team to recap their huge victory at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Hear from Amber Anning, Joanne Reid, Rosey Effiong, and Britton Wilson as they detail every moment on the way to winning the program’s fourth NCAA Indoor team title.

🔺 We Will Rock You. Arkansas baseball remains the No. 5 team in the country this week after winning two of three on the road against the defending national champions. Sophomore Peyton Stovall deserves his flowers for making that possible. Peyton recorded at least one hit and one RBI in all three games against Ole Miss, and tallied a season-high three hits in the second game, including a two-run homer.

Today, the Diamond Hogs face Little Rock (17-11) in a midweek duel before going up against Tennessee for another weekend series. Catch first pitch today at 6:30pm on SEC Network Plus.

🔺 Dan Enos is a familiar face to Razorback fans. His time at Arkansas for three seasons from 2015 to 2017 produced some great offenses and top quarterback play. After leaving the Razorbacks, he spent time at some of the biggest programs and with some of the game’s top coaches.

So why come back to Arkansas? Sam Pittman had a lot to do with that. Enos has a long history of developing quarterbacks, with seven signal callers currently in the NFL, including Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa. And his impact is already being felt on the Razorback offense, especially with KJ Jefferson.

Hear how Enos plans to help the Razorbacks take the next step in his appearance on the Hog Pod. And make sure to read Hogs+ senior contributor Clay Henry’s piece on Enos here.

🔺 Route to 66. Arkansas men’s golf team had a promising first day at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial. The Razorbacks shot a collective 13-under-par total of 555 after 36 holes of play, and sit in fourth place in the 14-team tournament. Leading the Razorbacks through the first day is Segundo Oliva Pinto, who fired a pair of 69’s for a season-best, 36-hole score of 138 (-4). Wil Gibson is just two strokes behind him thanks to a career-low round of 66 from his first 18 holes.

🔺 Is It Friday Yet? Wooo Pig Weekend is on tap for this weekend with Men’s Tennis, Softball, Volleyball, Baseball, and of course, Football’s spring game all going down on The Hill. The popular HogTown Pregame Party is also making its return for the festivities with feature band Boom Kinetic headlining. Click here to learn the five things you should know before Friday arrives!
