Courtney Day thought she was done with softball. After years of dedication, she stepped away from the game, unsure if she’d ever return. But coaching gave her a new perspective, reigniting her passion and leading her back to the field. Now, in her final season with Arkansas, she’s bringing experience, leadership, and a deep appreciation for every moment. From being called “Grandma” by her teammates to embracing the family atmosphere of Razorback softball, Courtney shares how stepping away changed her outlook—and why this season means more than ever.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Pitching Perfection. Razorback softball’s Reis Beuerlein threw the third perfect game in program history on Friday! Arkansas earned a pair of run-rule wins to sweep a doubleheader against Colorado State. Beuerlein joined Mary Haff and Robyn Herron in the history books as she struck out two batters, using just 46 pitches to retire all 15 Rams. Bri Ellis, Kennedy Miller, and Courtney Day hit home runs earlier in the day.

🔺 Welcome Home. The men’s basketball team and Coach Calipari announced the signing of three new Hogs! Senior forward Malique Ewin transfers to Arkansas from Florida State, where he recorded nine double-doubles last season. Graduate forward Nick Pringle transfers to Arkansas after spending last season at South Carolina and the previous two at Alabama. He has scored 691 points through 117 games in his DI career. Arkansas also signed freshman forward Karim Rtail from Beirut, Lebanon. He was a member of the Lebanese FIBA junior national teams and the senior team.

🔺 Four More. Razorback football signed four more over the weekend! Linebacker Trent Whalen transfers to Arkansas after spending the spring at Kent State and the last four seasons at Southern Utah. Safety Shakur Smalls transfers to Arkansas from Maine, where he was named the Darius Minor Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021. The defensive line gets stronger with the addition of Phillip Lee from Troy. He made 31 tackles, 11 for loss, five sacks, and a forced fumble last season. The final transfer of the weekend is defensive back Julian Neal, who joins the squad after spending the spring at Stanford. He played last season at Fresno State, where he recorded 35 tackles, five for loss, one sack, two interceptions, and six pass breakups.

🔺 Split Decision. Razorback baseball split Friday’s doubleheader against Texas A&M. They won the first game of the day, 11-5, before dropping game two 9-2. The loss snapped Arkansas’ streak of 12-straight SEC home weekend series win. The homestand will come to an end with a double midweek series against Little Rock, starting tomorrow.
