🎙️ THE HOG POD

Charles Davalan’s road to Arkansas baseball is anything but conventional. The Montreal native grew up playing hockey but followed his love for baseball to a Florida prep school—thanks to a few Twitter videos and a 27-hour family road trip. Now, he’s the current SEC hit leader and a key part of one of the best lineups in college baseball. In this episode, Charles shares how he bet on himself, adapted to SEC pitching, and embraced every moment of being a Razorback.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Chill Vibes Only. The motto of “chill vibes” worked out well for No. 10 Razorback softball this weekend as they took two of three from No. 11 South Carolina! Arkansas scored 10 unanswered runs to run-rule the Gamecocks 10-2 on Friday night. Arkansas’ 19 run-rule wins are a program record. They fell 5-4 on Saturday before winning a 5-4 thriller on Sunday. Robyn Herron had two line-drive catches, while throwing a complete game and striking out seven.

🔺 Friday Night Fight. The top-ranked Razorback baseball team took one of three at No. 7 Georgia over the weekend. Similar to the softball team, they scored 13 unanswered runs to pull away and beat the Bulldogs 13-3. The win was Coach Dave Van Horn’s 1,500th career victory in 37 seasons as a college baseball coach. The Razorbacks nearly overcame a four-run deficit on Saturday, but fell 7-6. Sunday was a thriller as the teams went into 12 innings before Georgia hit a walk-off home run, winning 7-6.

🔺 Chasing A Championship. The second-ranked women’s golf team will tee off at the SEC Championships at Pelican Golf Club today! Teams will play 54-holes of stroke play for the first three days to crown an individual champion, the top-eight teams advance to the match play quarterfinals. Arkansas last won the SEC Championship in 2018.

🔺 That’s A Wrap. The women’s tennis team closed the regular season with a 4-1 win over Mississippi State yesterday! The doubles point came down to Jayna Clemens and Chiara Di Genova as they secured the win. They’ll travel to Auburn for the SEC Tournament later this week.
