📈 STOCK UP

🔺 He’s Him. Arkansas ace Hagen Smith pitched his way to a second SEC Pitcher of the Week honor.

The junior left-hander, who shared this week’s accolade with Texas A&M pitcher Justin Lamkin, pitched six scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts, his fourth double-digit strikeout game of the season, to improve to 4-0 in the Razorbacks’ series-opening 1-0 shutout road win against top-25 ranked Auburn.

With his 12-strikeout effort, Smith raised his career total to 261 to move into a tie for fourth on Arkansas’ all-time career strikeouts list. The junior left-hander allowed just three hits and two walks in his dominant outing against the Tigers.

🔺 Striking Distance. 18 hole scores of 67 and 70 have Arkansas men’s golfer Christian Castillo tied for third on the individual leaderboard at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational. Christian’s 36-hole score of 5-under leads the way for the 13th-ranked Razorbacks, whom are tied for fifth place in the 16-team field at 2-under. Jacob Skov Olesen (T14 at -1) and John Driscoll III (T19 at even) are also in the top 20 along with Christian.

🔺 Meet Us On the Floor. The Gymbacks continue postseason action next week with the NCAA Fayetteville Regional, in which they have been seeded 10th. Arkansas will host second-ranked LSU, fifth-ranked Kentucky, 15th-ranked Minnesota, Arizona, Nebraska, Oregon State and Boise State and BYU. The top two teams from each Thursday semi will advance to Saturday’s regional final, and the top two from that contest earn berths to the 2024 NCAA Gymnastics National Championship in Fort Worth April 18-20.

🔺 Back in the Trenches. Eric Mateos is the new man at the helm of the Razorbacks' offensive line. But, it's not his first time working under Sam Pittman at Arkansas. Ten years ago, Mateos served under then-offensive line coach Sam Pittman as a grad assistant as he tried to break into division I football from the JUCO ranks. Since then it's been full speed ahead—coaching at programs like LSU, BYU & Baylor before coming full circle and landing the job as offensive line coach at Arkansas. Hear all about Mateos’ journey in the newest episode of the Hog Pod with Bo Mattingly.

🔺 Game, Set, Match. The 51st-ranked Arkansas women’s tennis team upset 15th-ranked South Carolina Sunday afternoon with a resounding 4-1 victory at Billingsley Tennis Center.

The Razorbacks got their victories from the duo of Lenka Stara & Grace O’Donnell, and clinched the win with Morgan Cross notching a singles victory.

The Hogs hit the road for a pair of SEC contests next week to face 29th-ranked Vanderbilt on Friday before taking on 67th-ranked Kentucky on Easter Sunday.
