📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Dozen Down. Six shutout innings and 12 strikeouts—it was just another day on the mound for Hagen Smith as the ace for the top-ranked Diamond Hogs led the way for a 1-0 victory over 23rd-ranked Auburn. Arkansas notched its first true road win of the season and 14th straight victory overall, the second-longest in-season winning streak in the Dave Van Horn era.

For the season, Hagen is 4-0 with a 1.24 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 29.0 innings and has held opposing hitters to a .116 batting average. In his last five starts, the Bullard, Texas, native has a minuscule 0.32 ERA to go along with 60 strikeouts.

With their series-opening win, the Razorbacks have now started 4-0 in SEC play for the sixth time in the last seven seasons. They’ll attempt to clinch the series this evening at 6pm on SEC Network.

🔺 Through the Air. Razorback men track athletes Wayne Pinnock and Romaine Beckford enhanced their position on the Bowerman watch list with a pair of national championship titles at the recent NCAA Indoor meet held in Boston. Wayne improved his world-leading distance in the long jump to 27-6.75 (8.40) in claiming a third national title in the event. Romaine equaled his career best for the second time this season, defending his NCAA Indoor title with a clearance of 7-5.25 (2.27) that remains the collegiate leader for the indoor season.

🔺 Forehand Hogs. The 51st-ranked Arkansas women’s tennis team concludes its three-match home stand with a pair of SEC contests at Billingsley Tennis Center. The Razorbacks face 12th-ranked Florida this afternoon at 4pm, and 15th-ranked South Carolina on Sunday at noon. While the ladies hold down the home court, the fellas of the 48th-ranked Arkansas men’s tennis team are on the road for their own top-ranked league matches. Up first is a match against 28th-ranked Alabama at 4pm today, followed by a trip to play 40th-ranked Georgia on Sunday at noon.

🔺 Take a ’Sip. The SEC home opener for Razorback softball will be a top-20 showdown between 17th-ranked Arkansas and 20th-ranked Mississippi State.

Arkansas rides a nine-game win streak against Mississippi State into the weekend, which dates back to 2017. Extending that streak to 12 would give the Hogs their fourth consecutive series sweep against the Bulldogs.

Today’s series opener is set for 6pm on SEC Network Plus with former Razorback, 2022 SEC Player of the Year, and First Team All-America selection KB Sides on the call as an analyst.
