📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Busy with the Brooms. It couldn’t have gone much better for Arkansas baseball this weekend as the Razorbacks outscored SEC Opening Weekend foe Missouri 23-1 in a three-game sweep to begin league play.

The Diamond Hogs capped off their seventh consecutive SEC opening series Sunday with a 9-1 victory following two shutout wins on Friday and Saturday. Missouri had no answers against Mason Molina yesterday as the LHP fired 5.1 scoreless innings and matched his season-high with 10 strikeouts for the third time this season. Mason’s now 3-0 on the year with an impressive ERA of 2.74.

A few off days are in store for Arkansas before traveling for the first time in nearly a month. The Razorbacks will be at Auburn for a three-game series starting Thursday.

🔺 190-ATE. Reaching new heights has been the theme of the Arkansas Gymbacks’ 2024 season, and this past Friday was no different. The 12th-ranked Hogs recorded a total score above 198 for the first time in program history with a 198.100 to topple 29th-ranked Nebraska for their eighth win of the season. En route to the huge team score, Arkansas also got program records in the opening and closing rotations, a 49.550 on vault and 49.725 on floor. It’s off the SEC Championships this week for Arkansas, which begin this Saturday in New Orleans, LA.

🔺 In the Valleys Below. The sixth-ranked Arkansas women’s golf team notched another top-five finish this weekend at the MountainView Collegiate. Maria José Marin logged a career-low 66 on Saturday on her way to a second-place finish on the individual leaderboard. Maria’s final score of 8-under helped the Hogs tie for fourth place with Iowa State in the 15-team field.

🔺 Crucial Step. The No. 48 Arkansas women’s tennis team secured its first conference win of the season after sweeping Missouri on Sunday afternoon at Billingsley Tennis Center. The Razorbacks look forward to two more home conference matches later this week in Fayetteville against 16th-ranked Florida on Friday, and 19th-ranked South Carolina on Sunday.

🔺 Three Benjamins. By sweeping Saturday’s doubleheader against Auburn, the 20th-ranked Arkansas softball team not only began SEC play with a series win, they also secured career win No. 300 for head coach Courtney Deifel!

Arkansas’ offense erupted for 11 runs on 15 hits, including six home runs, Saturday. Kennedy Miller was miraculous at the plate with a 4-for-6 effort that featured two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored. In the second game, the Georgetown, Texas, product tied her career high in hits after going 3-for-3 at the plate with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored. Bri Ellis, who transferred from Auburn this past offseason, went 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI and four runs scored in her first two games back in the Plains.

Following Sunday’s conclusion to the series, the Razorbacks are at 22-6 on the year with a 2-1 record in SEC play. They play again this afternoon at Texas A&M-Commerce at 2pm on ESPN Plus.
