Razorback Brew 3/15: Operation big cat

Today, Razorback baseball and softball face two different Tigers.

Good Morning. We’re back on the diamond today as Arkansas baseball and softball get after it, and one last gymnastics meet at BWA is in store for us in the evening.

Here’s what we have for in today’s Brew:

🎥 Catching up with Cam Ball
⚾️ Survived to advance
🐗 And so much more!

🏈 HAVING A BALL

Tera Talmadge of Hogs+ is getting a breakdown of the defensive line from Arkansas' Cam Ball following the Hogs’ first Spring scrimmage.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Tiger One. The top-ranked Arkansas baseball club is riding a 10-game win streak into its first SEC series of the season against the Missouri Tigers. The Diamond Hogs are winners of six consecutive SEC Opening Weekend Series, including five sweeps, since 2017.

First pitch for ace Hagen Snith and his 2.12 ERA for the season is at 6:30pm and can be streamed on SEC Network Plus.

🔺 Tiger Two. Down in Alabama, the 20th-ranked Arkansas softball team will kick off SEC play against the Auburn Tigers this afternoon. The Razorbacks have won nine consecutive meetings against the Tigers, and will go for 10 today at 5pm on SEC Network Plus in their first trip to the Plains since 2021.

🔺 South Central’s Finest. Arkansas track and field took home several South Central Region honors Thursday. Men’s coach Chris Bucknam and women’s coach Chris Johnson were named the Men’s and Women’s Coach of the Year, respectfully. Travis Geopfert was awarded Assistant Coach of the Year, freshman distance runner Peter Maru took home Track Athlete of the Year, and high jumper Rachel Glenn was tabbed Field Athlete of the Year.

🔺 Peaks & Greens. A trip to the desert is in store for the sixth-ranked Arkansas women’s golf team this weekend as the Hogs will compete in the MountainView Collegiate. Arkansas is coming off its fourth top-five finish of the season and is looking to build on that momentum at The Preserve Golf in Tucson, Arizona. The tournament is three rounds and 54 holes, with teams teeing off this morning at 9:45am.

🔺 Quest For Eight. The 12th-ranked Arkansas gymnastics team will complete its regular season tonight as the Razorbacks are set to host the 29th-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers at Bud Walton Arena. A win for the Gymbacks would be the eighth for Arkansas this season, which would be the most regular season wins since 2012 for the Gymbacks and tied for third-most ever.

Tonight’s regular season finale is the second in Bud Walton Arena for the Gymbacks in the regular season, and it will also be the site of the NCAA Fayetteville Regional April 3-6. It will also serve as Senior Night, with Emma Kelley, Sirena Linton and Jensen Scalzo being honored post-meet.

Team intros begin at 6:45pm, and first vault will be at 7pm on SEC Network Plus.
