Today, plenty of Razorbacks are shining in Florida.

Good Morning. Arkansas has officially taken over Florida this week as softball cruised to two wins on opening day, and the Gymbacks get their time to shine in primetime tonight.

🏈 MEET MIGUEL MITCHELL

Miguel Mitchell is trading the Swamp for the Hill. The former Florida safety experienced his first real taste of playing time in 2023, including the Gators’ most recent matchup against the Razorbacks. Arkansas not only won that game, they’ve now won the heart of Miguel by becoming his next football destination.

This episode of “In Studio with Tera” features Tera Talmadge getting to know Florida transfer Miguel Mitchell. We'll learn about his time as a Gator and what he brings to the Razorbacks.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Sunshine Hogs. The No. 12 Arkansas softball team cruised to an opening day sweep at the Paradise Classic yesterday, defeating Marshall 10-3 before downing host Florida Atlantic 8-0 in just five innings in the nightcap.

The first game featured Hannah Camenzind pitching 4.2 scoreless innings of relief, limiting the Thundering Herd to four hits while striking out three. As an offense, the Razorbacks combined for 11 hits, including four doubles.

A few hours later, the Hogs witnessed the third-ever complete game shutout of Robyn Herron’s career. Robyn surrendered just two hits, and struck out seven while hitters Reagan Johnson, Bri Ellis, and Raigan Kramer were responsible for five of Arkansas’ eight runs.

Arkansas enters day two of the season at 2-0 with a matchup against Ohio starting at 11:30am.

🔺 Running Here, Running There. Arkansas track and field returns to action this weekend as the Razorbacks host nearly three dozen schools in the annual Tyson Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center on Friday and Saturday. The No. 1 women’s team and No. 3 men’s team for Arkansas will play host to another impressive field of competitors, while athletes for both squads will also send distance runners to New England for the Boston University Valentine Invitational, and the Boston College Eagle Invitational.

🔺 Generational Respect. Arkansas baseball has been predicted to win the SEC championship in the annual preseason coaches poll for the first time in 11 years. The Diamond Hogs received nine first-place votes to take the 2024 crown. Additionally, Razorback outfielder Kendall Diggs and starting pitcher Hagen Smith were named to the Coaches Preseason All-SEC Team. Both Kendall and Hagen earned first-team recognition from the league’s head coaches.

🔺 Expansion Ready. University of Arkansas Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek has been appointed to the College Football Playoff Selection Committee. Yurachek will serve on the prestigious 13-person selection committee for the next three football seasons, beginning with the expanded 12-team CFP playoff set to debut following the 2024 regular season.

🔺 Floor It. The No. 13 Arkansas gymnastics team is looking for its third win of the season tonight when they face the No. 6 Florida Gators in Gainesville. The Gators, who’ve won two of their three meets this season, have scored 197+ in every meet so far and are ranked in the top 10 on vault (No. 7) and beam (No. 4). The Gymbacks outrank Florida on floor – its highest event placement so far – with a 49.456 average, good for fourth in the nation.

Tonight’s meet has been upgraded to air on ESPN, with coverage beginning at 6:30pm.
