🔺 Perfection Achieved. A record crowd at Bogle Park witnessed Robyn Herron tossing a perfect game to lead the 14th-ranked Hogs to a 7-0 victory over Illinois State. It’s the second perfect game for Arkansas softball since 2022, and it ignited a Saturday doubleheader sweep on Saturday as the Razorbacks then defeated Wichita State, 15-4, later in the day.
The seven-inning, 11 strikeout performance by Robyn was her first career perfect game, and her second double-digit strikeout performance of the year. She went the distance in just 86 pitches while her offense scored all seven runs in the first three innings.
Arkansas put together another shutout performance on Sunday by taking down UT Arlington, 10-0. Reis Beuerlein pitched all five innings for the Hogs and surrendered just two hits.
🔺 Swinging & Looking. Arkansas southpaw Hagen Smith etched his name in the Razorback history books Friday night when his 17 strikeouts vs. No. 7 Oregon State (in only six innings!) tied the single-game program record. The Hogs took advantage of team single-game record 18 total Ks and won 5-4 over the Beavers. Arkansas continued its strikeout spree Saturday with a new team record 23 strikeouts against Oklahoma State, and finished the weekend off with a 4-3 win over Michigan on Sunday with 10 more strikeouts coming from Mason Molina.
🔺 Battles Won. In the movie “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” the answer to all of life’s mysteries is 42. It’s also how many points Arkansas’ Khalif Battle scored during Saturday’s win over Missouri on the hardwood. The Razorbacks completed their regular season sweep over the Tigers as Khalif scored the most points by an SEC player this season. His 42 points were also one shy of the school record for points in an SEC game, and he did it all with no turnovers or missed free throws! Phenomenal stuff.
🔺 Packed For Mak. Arkansas women’s basketball legend Makayla Daniels played her second-to-last game inside Bud Walton Arena Sunday afternoon as Hog fans packed the Palace to watch her play on Senior Day. Click here to watch a touching tribute to Arkansas’ senior leader, featuring her Razorback teammates.
🔺 The Standard. Both of Arkansas’ track and field teams maintained their Indoor SEC Championship title streaks this weekend, with the men’s team winning its fifth straight, and the women’s team earning its 10th straight.
Men’s coach Chris Bucknam earned his 12th indoor championship victory as the Hogs bested second-place Florida by 57 points on the back of several event wins. This puts Coach Bucknam on track to win back-to-back NCAA Indoor National Coach of the Year honors.
Women’s coach Chris Johnson won his first-ever SEC title since taking over the program last year following Lance Harter’s retirement. Arkansas posted 51 more points than second place, which was also Florida, and most notably had five of the top seven finishes in the 400m with Amber Anning taking first place.
