Now, what else is in store for today’s Brew?

🎥 Going from good to great with Hagen Smith
🏌️ Hogs emerge victorious in paradise
🐗 And so much more!

🔥 HAGEN’S HEAT

Arkansas ace Hagen Smith had one goal during the offseason: to go from a good pitcher to a great pitcher.

From increased weight training, improved diet, and adding a splitter to his repertoire of pitches, all his hard work is about to transfer to the mound this season.

Take a look behind his and his coaches' plan and the journey that took him from the bullpen to a preseason All-American & SEC Pitcher of the Year.

🏈 MEET MARQUISE ROBINSON

Marquise Robinson is smooth with it. His confidence is perfect for the position he plays, defensive back, the only position he’s played in his entire career. Marquise revels in what’s required to go up against the best receivers in the country, and his swagger is exactly what the Razorbacks secondary needs in 2024.

This episode of “In Studio with Tera” features Tera Talmadge getting to know new Arkansas defensive back, Marquise Robinson. We'll discuss his time at South Alabama, his nickname that’s stuck from childhood, and learn what he brings to the team.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Party On The Green. A week after the women’s team took home a title not even 50 miles away, the No. 8 Arkansas men’s golf team won the Palmas del Mar Collegiate in Puerto Rico. The Hogs finished with a 27-under total of 837, besting 15 other programs by seven strokes.

John Daly II, Jacob Skov Olesen, and Matthis Lefevre were each under par in all three rounds as five Razorbacks finished among the top 12.

This marked Arkansas’ second win of the season (also winning the Blessing Collegiate Invitational) and its fourth top-three finish in the last five events. The team score of -27 ties for the eighth-best, 54-hole result in program history.

🔺 5K Magic. The latest SEC Freshman of the Week honor for track and field was earned by Arkansas’ Peter Maru, whose debut performance in a Razorback uniform produced an Arkansas school record in the 5,000m. Peter posted a time of 13:17.86 as the top collegian in the field and third overall behind a pair of professionals last week in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. His time bettered the school record of 13:24.32 set by teammate Patrick Kiprop just last year.

🔺 One Goal Above Everything. Arkansas pitching coach Matt Hobbs’ attitude towards the 2024 baseball season matches the entire program: The co-defending SEC champs are hungry for the ultimate prize. Hogs+ senior contributor Clay Henry sits down with Hobbs to break down this year's pitching staff and what to expect from the Diamond Hogs this season. Click here to read Clay’s article in which he dissects the interview in-depth, as well as Clay’s full interview with coach Hobbs in the latest episode of the Hog Pod.

🔺 Make It Count. The 5-2 Arkansas men’s tennis team returns home to host 6-2 Drake in a midweek matchup today at Billingsley Tennis Center. The Hogs are coming off an exciting 4-3 win over Nebraska on Saturday in which they were able rebound after dropping the doubles point by winning four singles matches to secure the victory. The Bulldogs recently split a pair of road matches against Indiana and Purdue. Seven of the Razorbacks’ next eight matches will be on the road, so this one’s crucial for the Hogs. The action begins at 6pm this evening.

🔺 Hearts & Hogs. For the third time this season, Arkansas will host a top 10 team as the Razorbacks face No. 8 Tennessee tonight in Bud Walton Arena. It’s the first time Arkansas will play at home on Valentine’s Day since 2009, but the last time they played on the road was in 2015. They defeated Ole Miss, 71-70, exactly nine years ago today.

Tipoff is set for 8pm and the game will be televised on ESPN2.
