Razorback Brew 1/30: Next level move
Today, one of Arkansas' best athletes in recent history is going pro.
Good Morning. We’ve got a new Hogs+ series for you to dive into, and major respect is pouring in for multiple Arkansas teams. Tuesday’s got nothing on you when you start it with a Brew.
Now, what else is in store for today’s Brew?
🎥 Meet the Hogs’ new QB
⚾️ More top-five respect
🐗 And so much more!
🎙️ MEET TAYLEN GREEN
Taylen Green will do what’s necessary to grow his game. As a multi-sport athlete from Texas, the former Boise State quarterback saw Kyler Murray never lose a high school football game and wanted to be just like him. It’s why he started to train with Murray’s dad. Preparing to compete at the highest level is why he finds himself going from the Mountain West to the SEC, and in an offense that can best utilize his dual-threat abilities.
The debut episode of “In Studio with Tera” features Tera Talmadge getting to know new Arkansas QB Taylen Green. Hear how he initially ended up at BSU, why he chose Arkansas, and his first experience watching film with offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino.

🔺 America’s Choice. The third college baseball major national poll has the Diamond Hogs right where they should be as Arkansas checks in at No. 3 in Baseball America’s preseason poll. It is Arkansas’ highest ranking in the publication’s preseason top 25 since 2013, when the Razorbacks also began the campaign at No. 3 in the country. The Hogs checked in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, in Perfect Game and D1Baseball‘s preseason polls earlier this month
Opening day for Arkansas is just 17 days away! Get caught up with Dave Van Horn’s latest presser as he previews the start of preseason practice.
🔺 Pairing Up. The Arkansas men’s tennis team had a successful weekend at home with victories over New Mexico and South Alabama. The Hogs clutched up Friday against the Lobos in their 4-3 win thanks to Karlo Kajin overcoming a first-set defeat to force a decisive third set, which he took 6-2 to clinch the victory for Arkansas. On Sunday, the Razorbacks surrendered just one singles match to the Jaguars, but their doubles play was flawless as Jake Sweeney and Connor Smillie teamed up to earn a dominant 6-1 win on court three, while Jared Horwood and Melvin Manuel claimed a 6-3 victory to secure the doubles point for the Razorbacks.
🔺 Out In Front. A successful weekend during the Razorback Invitational has moved the Arkansas women’s track team into the No. 1 position among the USTFCCCA women’s national rating index. Arkansas ranked No. 2 in the first set of ratings released a week ago. The men’s squad moved to the No. 4 spot after starting at No. 41 a week ago, which nearly matches their jump from No. 34 to No. 3 this time last year.
🔺 Big Leaguers. The MLB offseason is no time to slouch around, which is why former Razorback baseball stars, Heston Kjerstad & Dominic Fletcher, are back in Arkansas to train for the upcoming season. Catch up with both of them as they talk about their journey to the Big Leagues, life since, and why they return to Fayetteville every offseason in this uncut episode of the Hog Pod.
🔺 Next Level Move. Razorback sophomore Jaydon Hibbert, the 2023 winner of The Bowerman who turned 19 years old this month, announced his decision to turn professional last week.
Jaydon produced a world-leading triple jump mark last year, dominated the competition in sweeping a total of four SEC and NCAA titles during the indoor and outdoor seasons, and broke multiple records during his undefeated collegiate campaign with Arkansas. It all culminated towards him becoming the first freshman to ever take home The Bowerman.
Best of luck to Jaydon and his pro career!
