🔺 On To Lincoln. For the first time in a quarter century, the Volley Hogs are headed to the NCAA regional semifinal as one of 16 teams left in the dance. Arkansas swept Stephen F. Austin Friday evening and followed that with a 3-1 victory over TCU 24 hours later.

The victories advance Arkansas to the Lincoln Regional, where the Razorbacks will face a familiar foe in the round of 16. The third-seeded Hogs have drawn the second-seeded Kentucky Wildcats, the third match between the two teams this season. The regional semifinal match is set for 3:30pm in Lincoln, Nebraska and will be have a live broadcast on ESPN.

How did the Arkansas volleyball program reach these heights? It certainly didn’t happen overnight. Get an in-depth and behind-the-scenes look at how head coach Jason Watson has taken the Razorbacks from afterthought to NCAA contender in just a few years. It's a story told by those who know it best: Watson, Hunter Yurachek, Jill Gillen, Maggie Cartwright and Hannah Hogue, and it’s only Hogs+!

🔺 Bea-mazing. Arkansas’ Bea Franklin was named a 2023 United Soccer Coaches All-American. The graduate midfielder is Arkansas’ seventh USC All-American selection in program history and the first to appear on the second team. Bea led the Razorbacks in goals (9), assists (9) and points (27) and the SEC in assists and points for the 2023 season.

🔺 Against The Clock. The Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University nearly witnessed Razorback history when Kirami Yego registered a time of 13 minutes, 24.36 seconds, the second fastest time ever by an Arkansas distance runner by 0.04 of a second. Kirami placed 12th in a very fast section, in which winner Graham Blanks of Harvard shattered the collegiate record with a 13:03.78 performance. Ben Shearer, racing in a separate section of the 5,000m, moved to No. 5 on the UA all-time list with a 13:36.86 effort.

🔺 Year Of Speed. Razorback freshman Shawnti Jackson received the 2023 USATF Youth Athlete of the Year Saturday evening during the Night of Legends function held at the USATF annual meeting. Shawnti set multiple national records in her senior season at South Granville High School in Creedmoor, North Carolina, including in sprint distance times in the 55m (6.67), 60m (7.16), 200m (22.91), and 300m (36.63) along with the national high school 100m record of 10.89, which she produced among a field of professional sprinters.

🔺 Monday Night Hoops. How about some more basketball in Bud Walton? Arkansas men’s basketball will host Furman tonight, the Hogs’ first game since upsetting No. 7 Duke last week.

This is Arkansas’ first-ever game against Furman, the team that knocked out Virginia in the opening round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The Paladins are predicted to finish atop the Southern Conference this season.

The game will be broadcast on SEC Network Plus and tip time is scheduled for 7pm. As a reminder, if you have tickets and cannot attend a Razorback home game, you are encouraged to use the Muss Tix Transfer Program.
