🔺 The Brightest Future. A week after D1Baseball ranked the Diamond Hogs the No. 3 team in the country, the publication ranked the Razorbacks’ 2024 freshman class as No. 1 in college baseball.
D1Baseball’s top-25 freshman class rankings take instant impact into consideration while also placing stock on future projection. Arkansas is ranked ahead of No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 North Carolina, No. 4 Texas A&M and No. 5 NC State, with the SEC boasting nine teams in the publication’s top 25.

🔺 Freshman Phenom. Freshman guard Taliah Scott burst onto the scene for Arkansas women’s basketball this season. The lights-out three-point shooter has solidified herself as one of the best players in the country, with freshman stats that compare favorably to the start of Kelsey Plum's impressive collegiate career. But the rising star didn't get there on her own. Growing up with a D1 basketball player for a father and learning from Steph Curry himself, Taliah has built her game into one that rivals anyone in the college game. Hear her story in the latest episode of the Hog Pod.
🔺 Fay’s Very Own. Arkansas track and field didn’t have to look far to find its next great high jumper. Cooper Williams from Fayetteville High School has signed his letter of intent to join the Razorbacks next fall. With a senior season still to go, Cooper has already claimed a pair of Arkansas 6A State high jump titles as well as a pair of Arkansas Indoor HS Championship high jump victories. Cooper recently claimed first place in the high jump at the Arkansas HS Invitational with a 6-6 clearance, after winning the 2023 title with a 6-7 mark. His career best mark is an impressive 6-11.5!

Razorback signee Gerardo Gomez was runner-up, current Hogs Christian Castillo and Mateo Pulcini finished fourth and fifth, respectively, and former Razorback Segundo Oliva Pinto tied Pulcini for fifth. The Latin America Amateur Championship tees off today and will feature Segundo, Manuel Lozada, and Erich Fortlage. The winner will earning berths to the Masters, the U.S. Open and the Open Championship.
🔺 Man On The Mic. Arkansas men’s basketball analyst and co-host of The Razorback Daily Matt Zimmerman has been named the Arkansas Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association (NSMA). Z has been calling Razorback games with his partner, Chuck Barrett, since 2015, and brought his unique flair of enthusiasm and knowledge to The Razorback Daily in 2021 alongside former Arkansas quarterback Quinn Grovey.
