🔺 Clutch Beginnings. The collegiate career of Taliah Scott is off to a phenomenal start for Arkansas women’s basketball. Taliah’s 29 points from last night are a program record for a freshman debut, and the Hogs needed nearly every one of those points in their 81-76 victory over ULM. It was her final two points off free throws that gave the Razorbacks a five-point cushion with 19 seconds remaining.

Arkansas won its 13th consecutive season-opening game with Taliah leading the way in points and fellow guards Makayla Daniels (17) and Samara Spencer (16) followed suit in double figures. Saylor Poffenbarger also pulled down a career-high 21(!) rebounds, which is tied for second all-time in a single game by a Razorback.

Mike Neighbors’ squad is back on the court this Friday at 10:30am against Murray State, the first of two games played inside Bud Walton Arena that day as the men’s team tips off at 7:00pm.

He averaged 9 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists for parts of three seasons with the Cougars, while missing most of his sophomore season with an injury. Seeking a fresh start, Mark entered the transfer portal and landed at Arkansas, where he’s excited to write the next chapter in a career full of winning.
