One in the books. Arkansas men’s basketball opened up the season last night with a win over Alcorn State and Z is breaking it down for y’all with Tramon Mark. Plus, Ava Tankersley is on the show to discuss Arkansas’ draw in the NCAA Tournament!

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 It All Starts With One. Arkansas shot 52% from the field and got 49 points from its bench in Monday night’s regular season opening win over Alcorn State. The Razorbacks defeated the Braves 93-59 as Khalif Battle led all scorers with 21 points off the bench. Trevon Brazile added 13 points of his own (including the dunk seen below) and was a combined +23 along with Khalif. Arkansas had 20 assists on 28 made baskets and snagged 14 rebounds while out-rebounding Alcorn, 44-26 for the game.

The Hogs’ homestand continues on Friday, November 10, vs. Gardner-Webb. Tipoff at Bud Walton Arena is set for 7pm and the game will be broadcasted on SEC Network Plus.

🔺 On The Mark. It was an impressive Razorback debut for Tramon Mark as the former Houston guard added 16 points and led the Hogs in three-pointers made with four. Get to know one of Arkansas’ newest players in the latest episode of the Hog Pod.

🔺 Back-to-Back Opening Acts. Now it’s time for the ladies to take the court. The Razorback women’s basketball team opens its 2023-24 season tonight against ULM. A win to start off Mike Neighbors’ seventh year at the helm would give the program its 12 straight 1-0 start. The 7pm tip-off can be streamed on SEC Network Plus. 🔺 Ariel Lockdown. After every win for Arkansas football, we’ll highlight a key stat from Pro Football Focus that led to the victory. This week, cornerback Dwight McGlothern gets his flowers for an impressive day in coverage vs. Florida’s passing offense. Dwight allowed just two receptions for 14 yards despite being targeted five times in 38 coverage snaps.

🔺 In It To Win It. Fresh off an appearance in the SEC Championship game, Arkansas soccer earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons. The Hogs are a No. 2 seed, which matches the highest seed awarded in program history.

Arkansas will play against Grambling this Friday at Razorback Field, with kickoff at 6:30pm. The winner of the first round match will play the winner of Pittsburgh and Ohio State in the second round.
