🔺 Party In The Palace. The fifth-ever men’s basketball game between Arkansas and Duke ended in a celebration for the good guys as the Razorbacks defeated the Blue Devils, 80-75. On the 30th anniversary if its grand opening, Bud Walton Arena experienced its largest crowd ever with 20,344 on hand to witness Arkansas go up 3-2 on Duke in the all-time series.

Khalif Battle led the Hogs in scoring with 21 points off the bench while Trevon Brazile brought in a double-double with 19 points (thanks to a career-high four three-pointers!) and 11 rebounds. Defensively, Arkansas held Duke’s offense to a 35.8% field goal percentage, nearly 15% lower than the Blue Devils’ season average.

To top it all off, it was Eric Musselman’s 100th win as Arkansas’ head coach. He is 100-45 in his fifth year in Fayetteville, and 210-79 in his ninth year coaching at the collegiate level.

We’ll see ya next Monday against Furman, folks.

🔺 Challenge Accepted. A big week for the Arkansas women’s basketball team begins tonight as the Razorbacks take on 15th-ranked Florida State in the inaugural SEC/ACC Challenge. The 6-1 Hogs drew the 5-1 Seminoles for the first iteration of the midseason event, but a Mike Neighbors-led team has been here before. Arkansas has beaten six top-16 teams during Neighbors’ tenure in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks will have the opportunity to increase that total tonight at 6pm on ESPN2.

🔺 Trading Cleats For Sneakers. Arkansas soccer star Bea Franklin, the 2023 SEC Midfielder of the Year, has joined the Arkansas women’s basketball team for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. As impressive Bea is on the pitch, she was also a three-sport athlete in high school and four-year letterwinner. She averaged 9.9 points per game while leading Seattle Prep to a 20-9 record in 2016-17. Click here to read what Head Coach Mike Neighbors had to say of Bea joining the squad!

🔺 A New Edge. Thanks to Blueprint Sports (BPS), the industry leader in full-service NIL collectives, Arkansas Edge is now the official NIL collective for the University Of Arkansas, and all 465-plus Razorback student-athletes. Learn how you can contribute here.

🔺 Ring. The. Bell. Arkansas’ new offensive coordinator is former head coach Bobby Petrino! Widely regarded as one of the nation’s elite offensive minds over the last 40 years of his coaching career, Coach Petrino was the Head Hog from 2008-11 and has served as offensive coordinator for seven different collegiate programs, including last season at Texas A&M. With the Aggies, Petrino’s offense averaged 34.2 points per game (25th in FBS, 5th in SEC) while averaging 403.8 yards per game despite losing starting quarterbacks Conner Weigman and Max Johnson to injury during the season.

Welcome back, coach!
