If there’s one thing Razorback basketball fans have already figured out about Khalif Battle, it’s that he can flat-out score. The grad transfer from Temple is off to a hot start in his Arkansas career, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering he averaged nearly 18 points a game last season. His childhood shaped who he’s become as a player, and now that he's showcasing his talents on one of the sport’s biggest stages, he is ready to help the Razorbacks reach their goals.

Get to know Razorback basketball newcomer Khalif Battle as he sits down with host Bo Mattingly in this episode of The Hog Pod.

🔺 QB1 For The Record Books. Arkansas football got its fourth victory of the season Saturday night with a 44-20 win over FIU, and quarterback KJ Jefferson solidified his place in Razorback history.

KJ became Arkansas’ all-time leader in career passing yards and passing touchdowns as he threw for 187 and three, respectively, in the Hogs’ highest-scoring game since Week 1. Touchdown No. 1 on the night officially broke Brandon Allen’s record, and a completion to Isaiah Sategna gave KJ 7,767 passing yards to surpass Tyler Wilson on the all-time list.

🔺 Scoring At Will. Freshman Taliah Scott did it again for the Arkansas women’s basketball team as she put up a team-high 34 points in a 82-67 win over Arkansas State. Taliah’s 34 points were just three off from tying the freshman scoring record. The Hogs’ first road game of the season started slow before a 10-0 run late in the second quarter got them a lead they wouldn’t surrender. Arkansas is back at home tonight against Central Arkansas for a chance to improve to 5-0 on the year. Catch the 7pm tip-off on SEC Network Plus.

🔺 Run To The Podium. The Arkansas men’s cross country team earned a podium finish at the NCAA Championships this weekend. Arkansas placed fourth (with 211 points) for the third time in the past four years, and Patrick Kiprop and Kirami Yego earned All-America honors as well.

🔺 Showin’ Out For The Crowd. Arkansas volleyball’s Senior Night ended in a 3-2 victory over Florida, making this magical season the first ever for the Volley Hogs with two match wins over the Gators. Graduate hitter Jill Gillen led the way with 26 kills, the most of any Razorback this season, in front of the second-largest crowd in program history. 3,749 fans were in attendance to see the Razorbacks’ 24th win of the year. They’ll go for No. 25 this Wednesday against 13th-ranked Kentucky.

🔺 Local Star. Arkansas golfer Ela Anacona won the 2023 Women’s Latin America Championship in her hometown by 12 strokes, finishing with a 15-under 273. She closed out her performance with a field low 69 to claim the win, and has earned invites and exemptions to several future events.
