Razorback Brew 11/14: Mean & clean

Today, mistake-free basketball is in the Hogs' DNA.

Good morning. Whether it be Monday night or Tuesday night, any night is a good one for Arkansas basketball in Bud Walton Arena. We’ll break down how the men’s team looked last evening, and preview tonight’s game featuring the ladies.

Heads up play. Arkansas’ Trevon Brazile made all of his field goals Monday night in the second half, including this one-handed dunk beautifully set up by Devo Davis. Watch Trevon break down how it all went down in this exclusive clip from Hogs+.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Dominion Secured. The 14th-ranked Arkansas men’s basketball team notched its third win of the season with yet another impressive offensive showing. The Hogs crossed the 85-point mark for the third time this year in a 86-77 victory over Old Dominion inside Bud Walton Arena.

El Ellis led the Razorbacks in scoring with 17 points (15 in the second half alone!) and added eight assists to boot, while Makhi Mitchell put together an impressive double-double with a team-high 10 rebounds and 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Arkansas’ four turnovers were the fewest committed by the Hogs in nearly five years, and the fewest by an Eric Musselman team at Arkansas.

The Muss Bus returns to BWA to close out their four-game homestand this Friday against UNC-Greenville.

🔺 Shoot The Rock. The 2-0 Arkansas women’s basketball team will also look to go 3-0 to start the year tonight against in-state opponent Little Rock. Arkansas has started the season 2-0 for the 12th straight year, and freshman Taliah Scott’s SEC-leading 27 points per game has been instrumental in it. Catch the 7pm tip on SEC Network Plus.

🔺 When you come from a big basketball family like Arkansas grad transfer Chandler Lawson, you’re always dealing with expectations. Chandler left his hometown of Memphis—where his two older brothers played—for a fresh start at Oregon. After two years with the Ducks, he returned home to the Tigers, where the pressure was familiar. If that fan passion sounds familiar, then he should be a perfect fit at Arkansas, a place where fans cheer as loud for hustle and energy plays as they do for a big shot. Get to know Chandler in the latest edition of the Hog Pod with Bo Mattingly.

🔺 Soon On The Tee. A top-five recruiting class has been locked in for the Arkansas men’s golf program. Brentley Romine of GOLF Channel ranks the incoming class of Razorbacks as the No. 4 recruiting class in the country, which includes two of the top 40 signees for the Class of 2024-25 in No. 14 Gerardo Gomez (Mexico) and No. 22 Erich Fortlage (Paraguay) as well as Jackson McLaughlin (Little Rock Episcopal) and Pablo Garcia Terol (Spain). The class was also ranked ninth nationally by CollegeGolfCommits.com.

🔺 A Helping Hannah. For the fifth time in 12 weeks, Arkansas volleyball’s Hannah Hogue has been named the SEC Setter of the Week. She’s the first Razorback setter to win the award five times in one season and one of only two Arkansas players ever to win a weekly award five times in a season.

Hannah is also tied with Kentucky’s Emma Grome for receiving the honor five times each this season, and she’s currently third in the SEC in assists per set with 11.45, which is good for fifth nationally.
