🎙️ HOG POD: CHANDLER LAWSON

When you come from a big basketball family like Arkansas grad transfer Chandler Lawson, you’re always dealing with expectations. Chandler left his hometown of Memphis—where his two older brothers played—for a fresh start at Oregon. After two years with the Ducks, he returned home to the Tigers, where the pressure was familiar.

If that fan passion sounds familiar, then he should be a perfect fit at Arkansas, a place where fans cheer as loud for hustle and energy plays as they do for a big shot. Get to know Chandler in the latest edition of the Hog Pod with Bo Mattingly.

Hogs+ is home to original films and docuseries telling the stories of some of the greatest players, coaches and moments in Razorback history. Watch the new Razorback Films trailer!

🏈 RECAPPING THE ACTION

Head Coach Sam Pittman and host Chuck Barrett break down the Hogs disappointing 48-10 home loss to the Auburn Tigers. Also, wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa and defensive lineman Trajan Jeffcoat talk to the media in the post game press room and catch a special Film Room segment with offensive lineman Brady Latham.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Block Party. For the second-straight game, Khalif Battle came off the bench to lead the No. 14 Razorbacks with his second-straight 21-point game in a win. Arkansas defeated Gardner-Webb, 86-68, on Friday night to go 2-0 on the young season. The Hogs blocked 15 shots, five from Trevon Brazile and four from Makhi Mitchell, which becomes the most rejections by an Eric Musselman-coached college team in a single game, and the most by the Razorbacks in 32 years since having 15 versus South Alabama on Dec. 30, 1991.

Arkansas continues its homestand tonight vs. Old Dominion. Tipoff at Bud Walton Arena is set for 7 pm and the game will be broadcast on SEC Network Plus.

🔺 Kid Friendly. In front of the largest Elementary Day crowd in program history, the Arkansas women’s basketball team improved to 2-0 Friday morning thanks to another high-scoring game from freshman Taliah Scott. The Orange Park, FL native put up 29 points on 45% shooting from the field, and 100% from the free throw line (7-for-7). The Razorbacks defeated Murray State, 82-79, as over 11,000 fans in BWA saw four Hogs score in double figures, including sophomore Saylor Poffenbarger’s 10 points and 12 boards for her fifth double-double as a Razorback.

🔺 Quick Work. The 11th-ranked Volley Hogs needed just 90 minutes and three sets to sweep Alabama in Tuscaloosa Friday night, their second win over the Crimson Tide this season. Graduate outside hitter Jill Gillen had a team-high 15 kills on 31 swings with just one error for a .452 hitting clip, and also had seven digs and a solo block. Junior setter Hannah Hogue paced the offense with 43 assists and 11 digs for a double-double, her 11th of the season. With four matches remaining in the regular season, Arkansas’ 22 wins are the most in one season for head coach Jason Watson since he took the helm in 2016, and the most for Arkansas since 2012.

🔺 Dozen Straight. Razorback Sydney Thorvaldson led the Arkansas women’s cross country team to a victory at Agri Park on Friday during the NCAA South Central Region meet. Sydney covered the 6,000m course in 19:52.0 as the Razorbacks claimed its 12th consecutive region team title, the 27th overall for Arkansas. With a team score of 36 points, the Razorbacks secured an automatic qualification to the NCAA Championships, which will be held this Saturday at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Virginia.

🔺 Opened Flood Gates. It was a nil-nil at the half, and then the fireworks happened. Arkansas soccer scored five unanswered goals in the second half against Grambling on its way to advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Morgan White and Ava Tankerlsey found the back of the net first before Bella Field became the first Razorback to score three goals in a half since 2001, and she accomplished the feat in just under 19 minutes! Goalkeepers Phoebe Carver and Sierra Cota-Yarde split halves and combined for the Hogs’ 10th shutout win of the season.

Up next for the Hogs is Pittsburgh in their second round match, scheduled for this Friday.
