🎧 THE RAZORBACK DAILY

In today’s episode of the Razorback Daily, ESPN’s Seth Greenberg joins Q and Z to talk all things Arkansas basketball ahead of tonight’s season opener. We’ll get his take on this Razorback roster and what stands out about this team.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 It’s Showtime. The wait is finally over for Arkansas men's basketball as the 12th-ranked Razorbacks officially tip off the 2026-27 season Tuesday night against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Bud Walton Arena.

Entering his third season in Fayetteville, head coach John Calipari looks to build on last year's SEC Tournament championship as the Razorbacks begin another highly anticipated campaign. Arkansas enters the opener riding a streak of 52 consecutive home-opening victories, including a perfect 33-0 mark in season openers at Bud Walton Arena.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.

The Hogs’ 127 points were the most in a game in program history by 12 points, a record that stood since 1987, and the 79-point victory tied the largest margin in program history, which first occurred in 1977. Arkansas also forced a record 51 turnovers, besting the previous mark, held since 1990, by eight.

Senior forward Ayianna Johnson came off the bench to lead all scorers with 23 points and freshman guard Kyiah Prestridge recorded a 22-point, 12-rebound double-double in her collegiate debut.

🔺 Making The List. Without even playing a game for the Razorbacks, freshman sensation Jordan Smith Jr. has already made a name for himself.

This week, Smith was one of 50 candidates – and 1 of just 5 freshmen – named to the 2026-27 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Men’s College Player of the Year Watch List. He on the Naismith Awards College Player of the Year Watch List after winning the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Boys High School Player of the Year Award this past season.

🔺 There He Goes Again. It was quite a night for former Razorback Darius Acuff Jr., who led his Sacramento Kings squad to its first win of the season in Dallas last night.

Acuff Jr. poured in 25 points in the Kings’ 115-100 victory over the Mavericks and is now averaging 26.1 ppg, by far the most by any rookie in the NBA and is the 11th highest average in the league.

His former teammate, Meleek Thomas, earned his first start for the Cleveland Cavaliers last night, scoring a team-high 17 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

🎙️ THE HOG POD: NICK BRADFORD

Fayetteville native Nick Bradford’s basketball journey took him far from home and around the world, but his Razorback roots never faded. In this episode of the Hog Pod, the Arkansas women’s basketball assistant coach shares why he chose Kansas, stories from playing for Roy Williams and rooming with Paul Pierce, and how losing his older brother inspired his coaching career. Plus, he reflects on returning home and helping build the next chapter of Razorback women’s basketball.
