🎙️ HOG POD: RONNIE BREWER
Ronnie Brewer is a lifelong Razorback. He grew up watching his dad, Ron, play for Eddie Sutton. Then, he followed in his footsteps, leading Arkansas to a couple of NCAA Tournament appearances before setting off for the NBA and becoming a first-round draft pick by the Utah Jazz. Now, his story has come full circle as he returns as an assistant for Eric Musselman. In this episode of the Hog Pod, we go inside how Ronnie Brewer’s lifelong love of the Razorbacks and basketball has led him back to Fayetteville, where he’s trying to make a difference for the next generation.

🔺 Baker’s Dozen. The 13th-ranked Razorback volleyball team has now won 13-straight matches, and there’s nothing unlucky about it. The Volley Hogs defeated Missouri 3-1 with graduate outside hitter Jill Gillen leading the way with 15 kills and 15 digs for her 10th double-double of the season. She’s now No. 2 on the program career kill list with 1,803, which is also first in the current scoring era that dates back to 2008. Four players achieved double-digit kills with Taylor Head, Maggie Cartwright and Hannah Hogue netting double-doubles alongside Jill.
13 straight wins is the longest streak for Arkansas volleyball since 2003. The Razorbacks will go for No. 14 this Friday against Ole Miss.
🔺 53 For You And Me. Arkansas softball is very much in peak form as the Hogs put up 53 runs in four games over the weekend at Bogle Park, including two dominant wins against South Dakota State and UMKC in which they drove in 36 runs and surrendered zero. 🔺 Star(a) Of The Show. Members of the Arkansas women’s tennis team were in Dallas over the weekend for the SMU Fall Invite to face opponents from Washington, Kansas, and host team SMU. Senior Lenka Stara got the Razorbacks on the board Sunday with a singles match victory over Washington’s Erick Matsuda. Lenka won the first set in a 7-6 tiebreaker before finishing the match with a 6-4 victory in the second set.
🔺 Fall Finale. Arkansas boasts the top-ranked women’s golf program in the country and the No. 8 men’s team going into the third annual Jackson T. Stephens Cup, played today through Wednesday at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, TX.
The tournament will be broadcast each afternoon live on GOLF Channel, and will be the final event for both of Arkansas’ golf teams until the Spring.
