Razorback Brew 10/27: Outright brilliant
Today, Arkansas soccer shares its SEC crown with no one.
Good morning. Well, Bea Franklin said it best: “We don’t like to share.”
The glory belongs to Arkansas and Arkansas only as Razorback soccer closed out the regular season with a monumental win. Men’s basketball and volleyball are up next with pretty big weekends of their own.
Now, what has all been mixed into today’s Brew?

🎥 TREYLON BURKS’ HOMECOMING
A different perspective. Coming back to Fayetteville to catch a Razorbacks game gave former Arkansas star Treylon Burks chills. If you had given him a helmet and pads, he probably would’ve walked onto Frank Broyles Field to play.
Catch up with now Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks as he returns to Arkansas for Homecoming.

🔺 Outright Brilliant. When 10th-ranked Arkansas needed a goal the most, the team-leader in the stat Bea Franklin came through to grant the Hogs the outright SEC regular season title that not only clinched the western division crown, but the No. 1 seed at the SEC Tournament as well. Bea’s goal came with less than five minutes to play to give Arkansas a 1-0 victory over No. 21 Mississippi State.
Freshman goalkeeper Phoebe Carver notched her ninth-straight start and recorded five saves for her fourth solo shutout in SEC play. The Hogs also extended their home unbeaten streak to 31 matches and finished the regular season with nine wins at Razorback Field.
Up next: The SEC Tournament. Arkansas will face the winner of Auburn vs. Tennessee on Halloween, October 31 at 5 pm. The match will air on SEC Network.
🔺 Racking Up Miles. The 10th-ranked Volley Hogs, the only team other than No. 1 Nebraska that has not fallen in the coaches poll this year, are staying on the road this weekend with matches at South Carolina tonight, and at No. 19 Florida on Sunday. They will be the third and fourth legs of the Razorbacks’ five-match road stretch. Click here for full scouting reports of both teams and matches, which will each be streamed live on SEC Network Plus.
🔺 Slippery When Wet. Arkansas swimming and diving is also on the road for its third away meet of the season as they travel to California to take on a top-10 Stanford team. The Hogs have squared off against Stanford twice in the program’s history, first in the 1981-82 season and again in 2019. The series is tied at one win a piece with Stanford winning the most recent matchup.
🔺 Low-Post Malone. Arkansas men’s basketball is thrilled to have Trevon Brazile back and healthy, and expectations are high for the redshirt sophomore. was one of 20 players on the initial Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame watch list for the 2024 Karl Malone Award, the award that recognizes the top power forwards in Division I men’s college basketball.
TB will be playing in tomorrow afternoon’s exhibition between the 14th-ranked Razorbacks and third-ranked Purdue Boilermakers. It’s the second of two exhibitions the Hogs will play at Bud Walton Arena prior to their regular season opener on November 6. Proceeds from the game will go to Arkansas 211, a program of the United Way, to assist with relief efforts from the tornadoes that affected Arkansas this past spring.
The near-sellout exhibition will be streamed on SEC Network Plus and Watch ESPN App.
