🔺 2 & 4 Back For More. SEC Basketball Media Days are set to begin today, and the 14th-ranked Arkansas men’s basketball team was picked to finish third in the conference while Trevon Brazile (first team) and Davonte Davis (second team) were named preseason All-SEC by a select panel of both SEC and national media members.

Trevon was voted to the first team despite playing just nine games last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He averaged 11.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and was the team’s leading 3-point shooter at 37.9 percent (11-of-29). Devo earned his second career preseason second team All-SEC honor coming off an impressive junior year that saw him earn SEC All-Defensive Team honors.

🔺 Upper Half, Upper Hand. Just five teams were predicted to finish ahead of the Arkansas women’s basketball team this week. This year marks the fifth straight time the Hogs were chosen to finish in the top half of the SEC by the media, all in the Mike Neighbors era, and ninth time overall in the program’s 33-year history in the league.

🔺 Shear Speed. An impressive victory at the Virginia Pre-Nationals earned Arkansas sophomore Ben Shearer the SEC Runner of the Week honor. Ben ran a career best time of 22:55.0 in the rain on the 8,000m course at Panorama Farms facility that will host the NCAA Championships in November. That time is the second fastest by a SEC runner over the past 15 years during a regular season meet by two-tenths of a second!

🔺 Pile On The Pocket. Arkansas defensive end Landon Jackson earned another accolade for his 3.5 sack outing vs. Alabama last week. Landon has been recognized as the Bednarik Award Player of the Week, adding to his SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honor from Monday. The Texarkana native has solidified himself as the Razorbacks’ most dominant pass rusher this season, pacing the team in tackles for loss (10.5) and sacks (5.5) through the first seven games of the year.

🔺 Paint The Diamond Red. Arkansas baseball’s annual Fall World Series came down to a decisive and exciting game three in which the Cardinal team defeated the White team 9-8. Managed by assistant coach Bobby Wernes, the Cardinal squad was powered by home runs from Jack Wagner, Kade Smith, Reese Robinett, and Parker Rowland, who set the game into extra innings.
