🔺 Final 45’ Firewirks. 10th-ranked Arkansas soccer notched its 10th win of the season last night in a 3-0 victory over Florida. Three second-half goals came from Sophia Aragon, Sabrina Jones, and Ava Tankersley. Sabrina’s goal was the first in her collegiate career, and Ava’s was her fourth in as many consecutive games.
The Hogs have now won 29-straight matches at Razorback Field, and win No. 29 came in front of the sixth-largest crowd in program history and Arkansas’ third top 10 crowd of the season.
🔺 Gulf Coast Visitors. The 12th-ranked Volley Hogs, riding a historic 13-match win streak, have two SEC matches at home to bookend the weekend. Up first tonight is Ole Miss, set for 7pm and to be streamed on SEC Network Plus. It’s Fright Night at Barnhill, and fans are encouraged to come in costume. Fans 17 and under that come dressed up can receive $3 tickets at the door, along with candy pass-outs and a costume contest in-match. Alabama will come to Fayetteville Sunday for a 6pm contest broadcasted on SEC Network.
🔺 Player, Coach, Legend. Former Arkansas All-American Dick Bumpas has been selected in the 2023 SEC Football Legends class. Bumpas was an AP first-team All-America selection in 1970 and All-Southwest Conference honoree that same year as a three-year letterwinner for Arkansas (1968-70) at defensive tackle. He would later go on to coach for a total of 38 years of coaching, including one for Arkansas, and was selected for the University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor and the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. Click here to learn when Bumpas and many other SEC football standouts will be inducted this year.
🔺 Take A Dip. The Razorbacks defeated LSU in the pool by a two-point margin, earning their first win against the Tigers in almost exactly 10 years. The Hogs had nine first place finishes across sixteen events, as Alessia Ferraguti, Bella Cothern, and Adela Vavrinova combined for four individual wins. The Hogs are back in Arkansas this morning to face UALR at their natatorium in Little Rock.
🔺 Turn The Tide. Arkansas football is on the road again tomorrow for a early kickoff against No. 11 Alabama. It’s the 32nd meeting between the Hogs and Crimson Tide, and 16th in Tuscaloosa. Their last meeting in Bryant-Denny Stadium saw KJ Jefferson have one of his better games in a Razorback uniform. KJ passed for 326 yards and three touchdowns while leading the offense in rushing in a hard-fought 42-35 loss to the eventual national champions.
