⚾️ HAGEN’S HOG POD

Hagen Smith is Arkansas' all-time strikeout leader. But, his pitching prowess didn't happen by chance — for Smith, mediocrity has never been an option. He's had success throughout his career with the Hogs', but it has never been enough for him. After underperforming, in his eyes, last season he made it his goal to be the top pitcher in the country. By all accounts he's succeeded, leading the country in ERA & strikeouts per 9 innings at the end of the regular season. We sat down with Hagen to walk through his pitching journey and how his unique mindset and one-of-a-kind work ethic have formed him into one of the best pitchers in college baseball — and Arkansas' strikeout king.

🔺 Paint Chi-Town Red. The Chicago White Sox organization just got a little more red! Hagen Smith became the highest-drafted pitcher in Razorback baseball history when the Chicago White Sox selected him fifth overall in last night’s MLB Draft. He’s the third top-five overall draft pick in program history. Hagen will join fellow former Razorbacks Peyton Pallette, Michael Turner, Andrew Benintendi, and Dominic Fletcher in the White Sox organization.

🔺 You’re An All-Star. Summer baseball is still going strong for Razorbacks! Reese Robinett was named a 2024 NECBL East All-Star at third base. He has hit seven home runs for the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks this summer.

⚾️ In other summer baseball news, Ryder Helfrick tied Wehiwa Aloy with eight home runs to lead the Cape Cod League. Gage Wood is leading the league in strikeouts.

🔺 Vegas, Baby. Nine former Razorbacks are on NBA2k25 Las Vegas Summer League rosters! Anthony Black is playing for the Orlando Magic, Ricky Council IV with the Philadelphia 76ers, Kamani Johnson with the New York Knicks, Mason Jones with the Sacramento Kings, Nick Smith Jr. with the Charlotte Hornets, Au’Diese Toney with the Denver Nuggets, Stanley Umude with the Milwaukee Bucks, Jordan Walsh with the Boston Celtics, and Jimmy Whitt Jr. with the Golden State Warriors.
