⚾️ Baseball takes two from Florida
🐗 And so much more!

🎙 THE HOG POD: BRI ELLIS

Bri Ellis is a home run machine for the Razorback softball team. But, the Auburn transfer and former SEC Freshman of the Year had quite the journey to Arkansas. Growing up as a young girl in Texas, she dreamed of playing softball for Texas A&M, but sometimes dreams don't play out the way we intend. This episode takes Hog fans through Bri's journey from a girl who thought she'd never play softball again to becoming one of the premiere home run hitters in the SEC.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Chomped ‘Em. The Diamond Hogs took care of business at Baum-Walker this weekend, taking two of three from Florida. The fun started on Friday night when Hagen Smith surpassed 300 career strikeouts and struck out 11 batters. Ryder Helfrick put the Razorbacks on the board with a solo homer in the second inning and Arkansas won 2-1. Saturday was Peyton Holt Day. A double header was on the slate and Peyton Holt was the star. He hit a go-ahead two-run home run and made a deke double play to possibly save the game. His fake-catch play was No. 1 on SportsCenter’s Top 10. Arkansas won the first game 6-5 to clinch the series, but fell in the second game 9-5.

🔺 Tiger Takedown. Razorback softball went to Baton Rouge and took two from No. 7 LSU. Morgan Leinstock picked up her 50th career win on Friday night as the Hogs claimed a 2-1 victory. They clinched the series on Saturday with a 4-1 win. It was the first time the Razorbacks have won back-to-back series at LSU. Kennedy Miller had a two RBI day and Hannah Camenzind got the win. The Hogs fell on Sunday 1-0.

🔺 Jump Around. There’s a new Arkansas women’s high jump record holder and her name is Rachel Glenn! She broke the previous outdoor record with a 6 feet 2.75 inches jump at the LSU Invitational. Sanu Jallow won the 800m at the same meet with a time good for No. 5 on the Arkansas record list. Marin Chamberlain won the pole vault for the second-straight time. On the men’s side, Wayne Pinnock won the long jump and set a 2024 world leading mark under all-conditions. Romaine Beckford won the high jump and the 4×400m relay team won their race.

🔺 Newest Pro Hogs. Two Razorbacks were taken in the 2024 NFL Draft over the weekend! Both Hogs were drafted in the sixth round on Saturday. Kicker Cam Little was drafted to the Jacksonville Jaguars as the 212th overall pick and offensive lineman Beaux Limmer went to the Los Angeles Rams at pick No. 217. Cam became the youngest kicker to be drafted at just 20 years old. Additionally, Dwight McGlothern signed with the Minnesota Vikings, John Morgan III signed with the New England Patriots, Antonio Grier Jr. signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady Latham signed with the New York Jets, and Alfahiym Walcott was invited to the Buffalo Bills camp.
