Sit down with the new Head Hog, John Calipari as he takes Hog fans through his journey to become the Arkansas head coach, his coaching past and the future of Razorback basketball.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Let’s Cal Those Hogs. There’s a national championship-winning Head Hog at the helm, and his name is John Calipari. He stands in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, owns multiple Coach of the Year honors, produced 58 players selected in the NBA Draft, four National Players of the Year, won 16 conference titles, six Final Four births, a national championship, the list could go on for hours. He spent the last 15 years at Kentucky, but now he’s an Arkansas Razorback.

🔺 Gone Fishin’. While all the Coach Cal commotion was going on, the No. 1 ranked Diamond Hogs completed a midweek sweep over San Jose State. Freshman Colin Fisher got the start on the mound, throwing three scoreless innings to earn the 8-2 win. Peyton Stovall led the Hogs at the plate with four hits, including a double and two RBI. Arkansas will be back on the diamond on Friday at Alabama.

🔺 Ruled The Court. The SEC named Gerard Planelles Ripoll the Men’s Tennis Player of the Week! He went a perfect 3-0 on the road last weekend at No. 37 LSU and No. 8 Texas A&M. He picked up his first ranked victory of his dual singles career, beating No. 30 JC Roddick at A&M. Gerard becomes the first Razorback men’s tennis player to receive the honor since 2016.

🔺 Super Scholars. Two Razorbacks were named nominees for the McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship! Bea Franklin from the soccer team, who now plays for the Chicago Red Stars, was nominated as a finance major. Myles Richter from the track & field team received the nomination as an architectural studies major. The recipients will receive a $20,000 post-graduate scholarship.
