🎙 HOG POD: HUNTER YURACHEK

Arkansas Razorback basketball has a new man in charge, John Calipari. But, behind every coaching hire, there is the Athletic Director who brought it home. Hunter Yurachek sat down with us to take Hog fans through the entire process—from Muss’ departure, and initial meetings with Calipari, to introducing the Hall of Famer as Arkansas’ new head coach. This episode takes you through the entire journey of how Yurachek landed Cal.

🔺 Run-Rule In The Rock. The Diamond Hogs had no problem winning in the Arkansas Travelers’ home stadium in North Little Rock last night. The Razorbacks took the 11-1 run-rule win over UAPB in seven innings. Wehiwa Aloy put on a show with four hits and a career-high five RBI. He leads the team with 42 RBI this season. Peyton Stovall sac flied to center to walk it off in run-rule fashion. Cooper Dossett earned the win with a career-high three scoreless innings and a career-high four strikeouts. Arkansas is now 10-0 in midweek games this season.

🔺 Buy Stock Now. For the second time this season, Morgan Leinstock is your SEC Pitcher of the Week! She was in complete control against No. 15 Alabama over the weekend, picking up two complete game shutout wins. She struck out 11 Crimson Tide batters through 14 innings. This is the third-straight week a Razorback has received the honor with Robyn Herron receiving last week’s award.

🔺 Fore The Title. The No. 11 men’s golf team will get their SEC Championship run started today at Sea Island’s Seaside Course in St. Simons Island, Georgia. Today through Friday will be a stroke play competition and the individual champion will be crowned. The top eight teams will move on to match play on Saturday and Sunday. Arkansas’ lineup includes Jacob Skov Olesen, John Driscoll III, Christian Castillo, Thomas Curry, and Matthis Lefevre. The Razorbacks won the SEC Championship in 2019 and finished runner-up in 2021.

🔺 Cal Him Mr. President. The National Association of Basketball Coaches named Arkansas head coach John Calipari the President of the NABC Board of Directors for the 2024-25 season. He’ll be a leader for the Board and provide strategic leadership on its advocacy work and initiatives that support the coaching community and the sport. He has served on the Board since 2013 and was the Vice President last season.

🔺 Movin’ On Up. The Baltimore Orioles called up former Razorback Heston Kjerstad on Monday night! Heston was their 2nd overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft. He’s been crushing it, literally, with the Orioles Triple-A affiliate Norfolk so far this season. He’s hit 10 home runs in 21 games, plus 30 RBI with a .349 batting average. Hear the professionals talk about Heston on MLB Network.
