🔺 Pey Day. The Diamond Hogs finish the season with a 12-0 record in midweek games! They defeated Missouri State yesterday, 8-5. Peyton Stovall went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate and added a run and an RBI. Parker Rowland also went perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three runs, and RBI, and a walk. Ben Bybee got the start on the mound and fired four scoreless innings with a career-high six strikeouts. The Razorbacks will head to Kentucky for a three-game series this weekend.
🔺 Our Maria. Women’s golfer Maria José Marin was named SEC Freshman of the Year! She also earned All-SEC First Team and All-Freshman Team honors. She becomes the third Razorback to win the award, alongside Stacy Lewis and Emily Tubert. Maria led the team in scoring, rounds at par or better, and rounds in the 60s. Additionally, Reagan Zibilski landed on the SEC Community Service Team. The ninth-ranked Razorbacks will gear up for the NCAA Las Vegas Regional next week.
🔺 Teeing In Texas. The No. 8 men’s golf team will hold the No. 2 seed at the NCAA Austin Regional. They’ll play May 13-15 at the University of Texas Golf Club and Academy. This will be their 30th NCAA Regional appearance. They’ll play against Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, UNC Greensboro, BYU, San José State, Grand Canyon, Arkansas State, and Kansas City. The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championships.
🔺 She’s Back. Women’s tennis player Gomez Alonso will be playing in the NCAA Singles Championships! She’s the first Razorback to earn a selection in back-to-back seasons since 2015-16. She’s gone 13-7 in singles at the No. 1 court this season. She’ll compete in Stillwater, Oklahoma, May 20-25.
🔺 Meet The Newcomer. We’re introducing you to 6’4 fifth-year senior guard Johnell Davis, one of the newest members of Coach Calipari’s Razorback men’s basketball team! He’s considered one of the top-three transfers in the country. He has spent his career thus far at Florida Atlantic, a team who made a Final Four run in 2023. Johnell was named the 2024 AAC Co-Player of the Year and 2023 C-USA Sixth Player of the Year after leading the team in scoring for two seasons.
