Razorback Brew 5/1: Sweep baby sweep

Today, Arkansas softball looks to close out a pivotal series win.

Good morning. And congrats to Arkansas track and field coach Lance Harter for being inducted into the Drake Relays Coaches Hall of Fame. A busy weekend for track and field, softball, and baseball are all on the docket. We’ll get you caught up before you start your Friday.

Getting it done in Lexington. Arkansas softball is peaking at the right time, and last weekend provided plenty of momentum for their upcoming battles against Tennessee.

Go behind the scenes as the Razorbacks knock off the Wildcats in a doubleheader. Relive the biggest moments from the perspective of stars Rylin Hedgecock, Reagan Johnson, and Chenise Delce.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Calls Of Duty. A game of runs ended in dramatic fashion Thursday night at Baum-Walker Stadium. No. 7 Arkansas took down Texas A&M 7-5 after going up 5-0 in the second inning and surrendering that lead by the top of the fifth. Hagen Smith completely changed the game when he stepped onto the mound in the sixth, tossing four shutout innings and striking out four while allowing just two hits.

But an answer was needed at the plate, and Jace Bohrofen came through with the go-ahead two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth, helping the Razorbacks snap their season-long four-game losing streak.

The Hogs will look to clinch their fourth SEC home weekend series win of the season in tomorrow night’s game against the Aggies. First pitch is at 6pm on SEC Network Plus

🔺 Draft Results. Text.

Picks in bullet points

Sanders - Broncos second round

Stromberg - third round

Landers - Seahawks UDFA

Haselwood - Eagles UDFA

🔺 Even Flow. Staying the course in his second-ever PGA Tour event, Razorback Mateo Fernandez de Oliviera shot an even-par 71 in the first round of the Mexico Open. Mateo carded two birdies on the back nine of course and notched another one on his 16th hole of the day to counter the three bogies he made in the middle of his round.

🔺 Bring On The Smoke. No. 13 Arkansas softball hosts No. 3 Tennessee in a colossal series at Bogle Park beginning tomorrow afternoon. The Vols enter Fayetteville with a 38-5 record on the season, the best in the SEC, and have won 16 out of 18 conference games. They’ve lost just one true road game this year.

But this is Arkansas at Bogle we’re talking about. The Hogs have won five-straight at home, and are winners of seven of their last eight games overall.

First pitch tomorrow is at 4pm on ESPNU.
