Intersecting paths. As Arkansas softball’s lone transfers for the 2023 season, Kristina Foreman and Cylie Halvorson became friends and roommates out of their unique commonality. And their bond has only strengthened since the beginning of their wholesome friendship.

In this episode of That's the Tea, hear about both of their journeys to The Hill, and learn plenty of fun facts about the two Razorbacks.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Fresh Off The Press. Two Razorbacks took home SEC Freshman of the Week honors in their respective sports.

At the John McDonnell Invitational, Ariane Linton set career bests in the 100m and 200m and finished second in each event to garner her SEC Freshman of the Week accolade. Ariane is No. 8 in the 100m and No. 10 in the 200m on the Arkansas track and field all-time list.

Arkansas softball played five games in the last week, and Reagan Johnson had multiple hits in four of them. Now that’s a hot streak! Reagan was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after leading paced the Razorbacks with a .550 batting average and a team-high 11 hits and three stolen bases. The freshman also robbed two home runs during the Hogs’ 4-1 week.

🔺 Multi-Player. Going back to the track, Rojé Stona earned his second-consecutive SEC Field Athlete of the Week honor. This time it was for his accomplishment in the shot put after collecting the award the previous week with a discus performance. Rojé set a shot put meet record in winning the John McDonnell Invitational with a career best of 65-10.5 (20.08), which is No. 3 on the Arkansas all-time list.

🔺 Best Of The 12 Men. No. 7 Arkansas baseball returns to Baum-Walker Stadium tomorrow night to kickoff a three-game series against Texas A&M. In scouting the Aggies, a few names jump off the stat sheet:

  • The Aggies have two players batting over .350 for the season in Jack Moss (.375) and Hunter Haas (.354). Moss also leads the team in OPS (1.009), hits (60), and on-base percentage (.490)

  • Jace LaViolette provides the power with a team-high 10 home runs and 41 RBI despite only playing in 36 games this year.

  • Southpaw Evan Aschenbeck is a perfect 6-0 on the mound this year and sports an ERA of 3.24.

🔺 Repeating On The Mind. Razorback senior golfer Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira is coming back to represent Team International at the 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup. Mateo was the only player from Team International to post a 4-0 record during last year’s event, as he led his squad to a 33-27 victory. The 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup will be played June 8-10 at the legendary golfer’s home course, Laurel Valley Golf Club.
